Nicola was in immense pain. The pain had woken her up. The wounds on her skin burned like they were seared by flames. She scrunched her face in discomfort as she sat upright in bed, only to find herself in an entirely unfamiliar room. The memory of what happened before she lost consciousness sent a shiver down her spine. She lowered her gaze and anxiously inspected her body. Fortunately, she was still wearing the same clothes she had on before she passed out. Aside from the discomfort from her injuries, there were no signs of assault. But the unfamiliar surroundings made her quite uneasy. Ignoring the ache in her body, she quickly climbed down from the wide, soft bed. The window was open. So, she limped near it to look outside, and what she saw struck her. She was at sea. The room she was in was clearly on a ship. Nicola panicked as she gazed out at the vast ocean that stretched endlessly to the horizon. She didn't know who brought her there and where they planned to take her.
