There was no sound whatsoever in the room. Only Teresa’s jerky breathing made her chest rise in fear. That I had concern for her and for what might happen to her was the proof of my undying bond.
In that split second before she wanted to talk, an enormous shadow passed the window, rounding the house. It seemed that only I noticed the danger outside.
“What’s going on? Why are we in such a hurry?”
The terror in her voice grew as I stirred and gave orders. I took her into my room, quickly packed one of my suits, and handed it over to her. She remained there, stoned, unwilling to move.
I could see that her worry was actually her fear and always wondered what was the base of that fear? Now I know, and it was lurking in the surroundings.
I could relate to that fear. It was paralyzing her right now, and I wanted to go to her and tell her that everything was going to be alright. But time was damn short and in any second, that demon could have smashed that door and attacked us.
