It was the eve of her engagement banquet with Herman when Selena received a call from the hospital employee, informing her that Edmund had regained consciousness and had requested to see her. Selena immediately agreed to his request, thinking that she had some things she needed to clarify with Edmund. Herman drove her to the hospital. He then stopped at the entrance of the ward, gave her a long, contemplative look, and said, "You should go in, Sellie. I'll be right here waiting for you." Selena nodded in agreement, then entered the ward. Upon seeing Selena, Edmund's eyes were suddenly lit up. He then tried to sit up from his hospital bed but winced in pain as he unintentionally tugged at his wound. He inhaled sharply from the pain before saying, "You're finally here to see me, Selena."
