Chapter 14: Back in the Basement
I took the initiative to lick Edmond's lips. I became obsessed with his sexy lips. But I only licked his lips and stopped.
"Naughty girl, you are so sexy." Edmond's voice was a little husky, and there was a surge of lust in it. Edmond wouldn't let me go. He reached over the back of my head and kissed me on the lips again.
He was not as eager to claim my breath as before. He just tenderly, gently licked my lips.
His lips were a bit cool like the mint leaves on a cocktail. The coolness penetrated my heart. I felt so good.
Edmond slowly pushed his tongue into my mouth and began to explore inside. He licked over my teeth, my gums, and the base of my tongue. He wrapped my tongue up just like wrapping a piece of candy.
He guided me to move my tongue, and I felt like we were dancing an elegant waltz together. I was a novice who didn't know any better, and he was a gentleman I had accidentally met. He guided my steps gradually and taught me how to get the most out of the experience.
It was a wonderful feeling, like spring rain falling slowly on the skin, fine and dense, intoxicating. It took a long time before Edmond let go of me.
"Why are you so active today?" Edmond's dry, warm thumb rubbed my lips.
"Because you helped me," I answered honestly. But of course, this was only one of the reasons.
"Since you want to thank me, this is certainly not enough." With that, Edmond had slipped his hand into my shirt and was fingering my corset, which could be undone with a simple flick.
"No, come to the point first." I grabbed his hand and stopped him. What just happened was more important.
Edmond didn't do anything else. He looked at me with a serious face.
I told Edmond everything I had experienced today, including the strange scent, the horrible way the guests looked at me.
Edmond thought for a while and finally spoke. He said, "I have investigated these guests. They are close to Hank but not from the Stone Forest pack."
"Not from the Stone Forest pack?" I exclaimed.
Edmond continued, "Yes. They are actually powerful people from various packs. They are capable and almost control part of the pack's power respectively."
What was the purpose of such a group of rich and powerful people gathering together? Why did they behave so abnormally at the banquet?
Things became more strange. I decided to work separately from Edmond. He continued to investigate the guests, and I decided to go back home. The meeting between my father and Hank that day still haunted me.

The basement was so dim that even though it was my own home, I never came to walk around there. My father said the basement was dirty and messy, and I hated places like that.
But I finally came in when my father was away. I had to thank the benevolent Moon Goddess for keeping my father away from home and allowing me to enter this forbidden place.
I found the switch in the corner of the basement. The light illuminated the basement, which was as dim as the underground hospital in Nightsong.
But it was just an ordinary basement and as cluttered as my father had described.
I moved the clutter at the wall with great disgust. One piece, two pieces...
Finally, as I was moving the fifth piece, I saw the small, inconspicuous door behind it.
I cautiously pushed the door open and made a defensive stance.
However, there was nothing behind that door except a secret passage.
I walked into the secret passage and felt the walls. I was sure that there was no other mechanism or light switch.
I could only move forward by the light of the flashlight.
The secret passage was cool. I felt a bone-chilling cold even in the summer. But more unpleasant than this is the strange scent, which was exactly the same as Hank's. And the further I went inside, the stronger the scent became. After a dozen steps, I could no longer tolerate the smell.
The smell was too strong and too pungent.
I pinched my nose to continue inside, but I heard the sound of servants saluting outside.
My father was coming back!
I quickly rushed out of the secret passage and restored the things in the basement to their original positions. I patted the dust on my body and returned to the living room pretending as if nothing had happened.

Oh, why was the door open? I remembered locking it when I went out. Was it Hank or Liana?
If it was Liana...
I had to stay alert. If it was Liana, it would be bad. She might find something.
I walked into the house. Oh, it was my baby girl, Liana. She was at the door getting ready to change her shoes. It looked like she had just returned.
I was relieved.
No, wait. This smell... Did Liana go to the basement? The smell on her was so strong. Perhaps she had even entered the secret passage.
As expected to be my daughter, she's so smart...
"Dad, why are you looking at me like that? Don't you welcome me?" Liana blinked her big eyes. Her eyes were amber, just like her mother's.
"Oh, you're certainly welcome. Our door will always be open for my good daughter." I smiled back at Liana. This was not the time to oppose her. "But we have important guests today. It wouldn't be appropriate for you to be here."
"Oh, I see. Then I'd better go back." Liana put on the changed shoes again.
It seemed like she couldn't wait to go back...
As expected, I could not control my daughter now that she was grown up. Liana, my good daughter, it seemed that I must punish you.
Liana left without hesitation. I watched her departing back and called Hank...

*Liana*
It was too dangerous just now. I was almost discovered by my father. He was indeed hiding something from me.
My father suddenly became a stranger. I had very mixed feelings. I did not want to believe it, but the truth was right in front of me.
"Liana..." A familiar voice came from behind. It was Edmond.
I threw all my emotions into the wind and turned to run toward Edmond. When I reached his side, I suddenly jumped up.
Edmond opened his arms and took a step forward, catching me firmly. I wrapped my legs around his waist and was hugged by him.
We were in such an intimate position that we attracted strange looks from passersby, but I didn't care. I sniffed his scent impudently.
Edmond also rested his chin on my shoulder and sniffed my hair.
But he gradually got closer to my neck and kept sniffing with his nose. He was a little greedy, like a drug addict.
"Do you like my neck that much? Why aren't you biting my ears anymore?" I buried my head in his shoulder and asked him.
Edmond didn't answer me. I pulled away from his shoulder and looked at him. I saw that his teeth had turned into the fangs of a wolf, thick, long, and sharp.
Edmond pressed his teeth against my neck, to be more precise, my aorta. I exposed my vitals completely in front of him. I realized that one gentle bite could kill me.
"Liana, do you know? I really want to bite your neck," Edmond suddenly said.
