Chapter 84 The Business Trip
As Cordelia began to plummet weightlessly, a sturdy arm wrapped around her, a brisk scent filling her nostrils, causing her pupils to contract sharply. She cluched his arm tightly, her face flushed red.
The bulky suitcase thudded to the side, catching Benedict's indifferent gaze. "Why didn't you have Victor handle that?" he remarked coolly.
"Isn't this supposed to be my job?" Cordelia said nonchalantly. She fretted over his hand and quickly extricated herself from his embrace.
"You have plenty of jobs, and this one doesn't seem enough."
Benedict retorted icily and glanced dispassionately at the neatly folded clothes on the table. She had put in some effort this time.
"Why is everything my job? Don't you have any responsibilities as a husband?"
Cordelia protested and felt as though she hadn't enjoyed any perks of being Benedict's wife, only burdened with heaps of work.
'At least office workers get paid. All I get as a wife is grief,' she thought to herself.
