"Laura, don't!" It was Vivienne, her face etched with worry. "We can't lose you too!"
Dr. Carter's laughter rang out across the battlefield. "Oh, how touching. The little human girl, playing at being a werewolf. Tell me, Laura, how does it feel to be so... powerless?"
Laura struggled against Vivienne's grip, tears streaming down her face. "You monster! What did you do to him?"
"Just a little something I've been working on," Dr. Carter replied casually. "A way to... neutralize the werewolf threat. Your dear Logan will live, but I'm afraid his days of transformation are over."
Horror washed over Laura as the implications sank in. Logan, stripped of his werewolf abilities? It seemed impossible.
