AURORA.
I watched Mateo with mixed emotions as he sat in the passenger seat of his Mercedes and cried silently, feeling helpless. It took me back to our life together three years ago, when everything had been seemingly great. He was a man in tune with his feelings, none of that macho shit. It was one of the things I always appreciated about him. I never had to ask for too long before he told me what was on his mind. Even now, as I stood and watched him cry, I knew that whatever was bothering him would eventually find its way into the open.
However, three years was enough to change a person and it was shocking that Mateo was still the same in that aspect.
Against my better judgment, I began to feel sorry for him. Softening my tone, “What did you mean by your mother threatened to cut you off earlier?”
