The Moonstones

(Author’s POV) The greater demon was sealed by the moon goddess centuries ago using a moonstone. It was later subdivided into 12 moonstones and handed over to the Alphas of the packs for safekeeping. Since moonstones had tremendous powers, they could enhance the abilities of a werewolf, or they could break the seal of a demon and set it free, they were kept hidden in safe places. Currently, Asher held six moonstones from among those twelve. John Carol, Anna's father had one which was stolen by Ruby during the attack and was handed over to Shadow Howl Pack. That moonstone was used to weaken the seal of the greater demon, it was a vile creature which thrived in chaos. Since the moonstone had been divided into 12 smaller moonstones. A single one wasn't powerful enough to break the demon’s seal. It was only able to weaken the seal and a part of the demon's soul escaped.
