Chapter 1: The Affair

"Good afternoon, madam," greeted the middle-aged man in a tailcoat as the woman descended the stairs. The woman was very beautiful, with long golden curls and a delicate, doll-like face. Lady Viennel von Augumilans smiled faintly. "Good afternoon, Mr. Ad, is the afternoon tea I requested ready?" "It's all prepared," Ad replied. Viennel was very satisfied. "Good, then have the driver take me to McCarron Tower. I'm going for afternoon tea with my husband. Remember, don't tell him, I want to surprise him." After getting ready, Viennel got into the car headed for McCarron Tower to bring her husband some afternoon tea. Married for over half a year, they rarely met, and Lady Wrenley was already urging her to bear an heir for the Augumilans family. Viennel also wanted a child. After all, living alone in the vast estate was too lonely. Arriving at her husband's workplace, Viennel asked her maid to stay behind and carried the snacks herself to Mr. Morris Augumilans's office. Viennel was looking forward to today's meeting because she hadn't seen her husband in over a month. She needed to cherish this time to nurture their relationship, hopefully with some romance involved. To avoid spoiling the surprise, Viennel deliberately avoided the staff. But since there were hardly any staff around, she walked quickly and quietly, soon arriving at her husband's office. The door wasn't closed tightly. Just as she was about to knock, a familiar female voice came from inside. "Morris, when will you kick that damned Viennel out of Casha Manor? Do you really like her?" The woman's voice was sweet, with a hint of coquetry, irresistible to most men. Morris replied, "How could I? I only have feelings for you. Keeping her is my mother's idea. You know how good she is at winning people over. A few words, and my mother likes her, insisting I marry her. I can't stop it." "Bang!" A loud noise startled the two talking inside. The door opened, revealing a young couple in each other's arms, their clothes disheveled, and the man's hand still on the woman's chest. "Already starting an affair in broad daylight?" Viennel asked with a smile. Morris remained calm. "What are you doing here?" Viennel threw the box she was carrying at them. "I came to bring you some food to replenish your energy for your filthy affair!" "Affair?" Lousa laughed. "Morris and I are genuinely in love. It's because of your appearance that we've been separated. Morris and I aren't having an affair; we're in love freely. You're the hateful third party!" "I'm his legal wife!" Viennel retorted. "So what?" Lousa retorted. "You're just a despicable little girl who deceived Lady Wrenley with shameless means. Otherwise, do you think you'd have a chance to marry into the noble Augumilans family?" Viennel had met Lady Wrenley Augumilans at a public event, and after chatting for a while, Lady Wrenley had taken a liking to her. Later, Viennel helped Lady Wrenley with a small favor, which made Lady Wrenley like her even more, so she allowed Viennel to marry into the Augumilans family. "Morris, do you think the same way?" Viennel felt hurt. She thought Morris must have some feelings for her, or why else would he marry her? After listening, Morris laughed heartily. "Your veins carry dirty blood, so I despise you. I don't want to have anything to do with you, let alone have children with you." Viennel finally understood why Morris often didn't come home, and every time he did, he just had dinner and then left on the pretext of something urgent. "Disgusting!" Viennel approached the couple having an affair, picked up the cake on the ground, and threw it at them. "Get lost!" Lousa was furious. Her clothes were covered in cake. "How dare you! I'll kill you!" She picked up an empty vase from the table and smashed it toward Viennel. Viennel dodged instinctively, avoiding the vase. "That's enough!" Morris protected Lousa and said to Viennel, "This ends here. Let's dissolve our marriage. I'll give you ten million, and you leave Casha Manor. But you have to say it was you who wanted to separate, not me forcing you. Otherwise, I won't give you any money, and you'll regret joining the Augumilans family." Viennel, a helpless and vulnerable woman, couldn't compete with Morris, who had countless wealth. So she could only agree to divorce. "I agree to divorce you," Viennel said calmly, not at all attached to the scumbag. "Let me know when to go to court. I have work to do, so I won't disturb your affair anymore." Lousa said fiercely, "You are the pathetic third party! And what work do you have? Are you going to sell vegetables? If so, you'd better beg me, and I'll give you more money." Viennel smiled. "I'm not like you, who only knows how to play innocent in front of the camera, living on the audience and fans' charity. I have a job." Lousa didn't know what job Viennel had, but she had never heard Morris mention Viennel's job, so she thought Viennel was lying to avoid losing face. "What job do you have?" Morris asked. Viennel didn't want to pay attention to him but also didn't want to leave like this. So she said, "Of course, I'm cooperating with Mr. Ancarrot." After saying that, Viennel left without looking back. Lousa laughed, "Who are you, to be able to cooperate with Mr. Ancarrot? Are you stimulated and gone crazy?" Morris also laughed, "I can't even easily see Ancarrot, how could a little girl like her meet Mr. Ancarrot?" No matter what they said, Viennel didn't care. Luckily, she found out early. If she found out about this affair after having a child, she wouldn't even have a place to cry. Alright, from now on, she, Viennel, was a free woman. She couldn't be called Viennel von Augumilans anymore; she had to change back to her original name, Viennel von Weng. "Beep-beep!" The honking interrupted Viennel's thoughts. She instinctively moved aside, not to block anyone's way. The car stopped, and a tall bodyguard got out of the car, then bent down to invite another person out. Viennel looked over and felt a bit guilty because the person who came down after her was none other than Mr. Ancarrot Sid Rowels, whom she had bragged about when they were forming teams just now.
