CHAPTER FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE – DEJA VU
The next morning found them in a rental car, driving south along the coast. Jasmine's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, her stomach a knot of anticipation and fear. What if this didn't work? What if Marco still couldn't remember?
"It's beautiful," Marco said, gazing out at the ocean. "I can see why we chose to come here."
Jasmine glanced at him. "Do you remember coming here before?"
Marco shook his head. "No, but... it feels familiar somehow. Like déjà vu."
Jasmine's heart leapt at his words. It wasn't much, but it was something.
As they approached Punta Hermosa, Jasmine could feel her pulse quickening. She parked the car near the beach and turned to Marco.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
He nodded, a mix of curiosity and apprehension on his face. They got out of the car and made their way down to the sand.
