Chapter 7 Emily's POV

Emily's POV "That's impossible!" I blurted out. Owen was a playboy no matter what. Playboys only desired to fulfill their physical needs and could never be trusted. After finding out I had been tricked by my fiancé over these few years, why would I have another man do the same? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I wouldn't do something so stupid. …… By the time I got home, it was already three in the afternoon. I was the only one in the entire place. It was so quiet that I could hear only my footsteps. There were many balloons around that hadn't been blown up yet. The walls were full of photos of me, my brother and Blake. In the garden in front of the house, there was a swing that my brother had made for me. In my room, there was a journal prepared for my wedding. The countdown to the day of the wedding was recorded on it. Almost every page was filled with premarital bliss. Now, all this was reduced into a big joke. The grief, despair and agony of my marriage being torn apart before it could even begin had not completely dissipated from my body. I took out my phone and texted a few friends, asking each of them to do me a little favor. …… In the evening, Blake came back with Jeremy by his side. I could clearly sense the adoration for Blake in Jeremy's eyes. His gaze was so tender. I ran over to Blake on purpose to give him a hug. "You're finally back! I miss you so much." I noticed how jealous Jeremy looked after that, which was what I wanted. I must let them experience what I had been through so far. These men couldn't be happy while I was in so much pain! I was going to take Blake's relationship down with his reputation. During dinner, I said while cutting up some steak for Blake, "Dear, I cooked the steak just for you. Isn't it lovely?" "Emily makes a very delicious steak," Jeremy admitted. "I can't even fry an egg." He cast a shy glance at Blake as he spoke. Ignoring that, I smiled and said to Jeremy, "That's not a problem, your mate can always cook for you. You're so handsome. I'm sure many ladies will go after you. I heard someone even made dessert for you." "Oh, is that so?" Blake wondered, appearing a little unamused. Jeremy immediately explained, "No, I haven't received any desserts." I said, "Really? I saw my friend's photo. Did you kiss that girl? Don't be shy. If you like her, you should be bolder. We're all friends. Perhaps we can figure out a way to help you?" I passed my phone with the photo of Jeremy kissing another girl on it to Blake. "It's just a dare," Jeremy rushed to answer. "I didn't mean it." Blake's expression was full of disgust. I was ecstatic. My hard work throughout the entire afternoon was about to pay off. Blake was highly suspicious about everything. As long as I planted more seeds of suspicion in his mind, it would end up with him quarreling with Jeremy and them finally breaking up. "Enough, Jeremy!" Blake yelled. "Don't say another word." Jeremy lowered his head and stopped talking, looking very disturbed. I turned to Blake and said, "Let's stay at home today. I've changed the sheets and pillowcases. There are a lot of things in the wedding I want to discuss with you." If I said this on any other day, Blake would definitely refuse and leave me behind for Jeremy. But this time, Blake said, "Sure. I'll be with you tonight." I prepared a bathrobe for Blake as soon as he agreed to stay. Then, I took plenty of suggestive photos of myself and uploaded them on social media for the werewolves to see. I captioned them with, "Love makes me satisfied." Nina was dismayed at my hypocrisy. "Are you sure Jeremy will definitely see it?" "Of course," I said. "He's not getting along with Blake tonight. He'll definitely want to find out how Blake's doing. So, these photos are all meant for him." A few minutes after I shared my photos, Blake emerged from the bathroom. I took out a document I had prepared beforehand about the wedding. "I need to check with you on the guest list for the wedding banquet. Can we do it right now?" I knew that he cared a lot about who should attend his wedding. It was related to his social circles after all. Discussing this was a calculated decision to buy myself some time. We talked for about an hour. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Blake's phone light up many times, but he didn't notice. "Here's the list," I said. "I'll give you a copy." I took the document away and asked, "Do you want to sleep here?" Blake replied, "Not tonight. I'm going to sleep in the other room. You should rest early." He picked up his phone to answer a call. Just now, I had bugged Blake's phone. I could hear every second of every phone call he made. It was time to put on my headphones. Indeed, werewolves had extremely acute hearing. However, it also had its limits. They couldn't hear sounds that were too soft or far away. Who knew human inventions could be so useful? I listened intently to Blake's call with Jeremy. "Why didn't you pick up the phone?" Jeremy asked. "What's with your temper?" Blake said. "I had something important to deal with just now." Jeremy retorted, "How can you question my temper? You clearly promised me you wouldn't stay at Emily's house before marrying her. And now you broke it!" "It started with you kissing a woman," Blake snapped. "This is all your fault!" Jeremy was flustered. "You didn't listen to me at all. I told you it was just a dare. There's nothing between us." Blake was about to hang up. "I'm not going to argue with you. I'm going to sleep!" Jeremy couldn't believe his lover's response. "Oh my God, are you going to sleep with your fiancée? Damn you, you bastard!" Blake completely lost his patience. "You're out of your mind. You'd better calm down before talking to me again!" He hung up the phone right away. I took off my headphones. I was over the moon, looking forward to them getting into more fights. It was already the wee hours. I was getting exhausted and needed my beauty sleep. Noticing that it was raining outside the window, I got up and went to close it. I didn't expect a black wolf to suddenly appear behind the window pane!
