“Hunter Karl! You bastard! How dare you return here?!” the chief guard blared in front of us. He was standing at the center of the Manor compound with scores of guards surrounding us ready to tear through our skin.
“Who is he?” the white-haired guy, Abel, my right-hand man, beside me said.
“Matthew,” I replied, not in the slightest bothered by the chief guard's ferocious eyes, he was the only one among the guards who didn’t have fear gleaming in his eyes. “He is the chief guard of the Pack, he used to be my trainer when I was little. He was good, real good.”
“Better than me?” Abel smirked and I scoffed while I tucked my hands into my coat pockets.
“He’s beneath you.”
Matthew scoffed. “It is just the two of you against us, no matter how confident you are in your strength, coming here was a mistake. I promise you both that you won’t see the next sunlight.”
