“Oh look, there’s my wonderful family!” I chirped, still holding Matthew above the ground, struggling against my grip.
I grinned, thoroughly enjoying their petrified looks except for my father whose eyes gleamed with nothing but rage and disgust intertwined. I could see it in his eyes how much he badly wished to kill me and I would be lying to myself if I said it didn’t sting a little.
My eyes wandered to my brother, Maddox, who reeked of nothing but fear. His heartbeat was racing like a sports car and his breaths were touring out shakily.
My mother, on the other hand, had faint tears glistening in her eyes, it stemmed mostly from pity and it stung more than knowing my father wanted me dead.
