Chapter 3 Dump The Kids At Orphanage II
She drove her car inside the compound and packed it in the garage. She noticed Billy’s mother, her mother-in-law’s black Lexus car. Allison was happy, she was around.
Billy’s mother, Mrs. Mitchel Benson, is a nice woman and has always treated Allison like her daughter. She has never raised her voice on her, even concerning having a grandchild. She talks to Billy about it instead, she thought the issue of not giving birth was with Allison not knowing it was her son. So she always tries to avoid saying it in her front so she won’t get hurt.
Billy was her only child and he understood what it feels like to be called a barren, it took her years before she could give birth to Billy.
Allison walked inside the mansion. Mrs Mitchel embraced her with a hug and walked her to the sitting room.
“Welcome dear, how was your day?” she inquired.
“I’m fine ma, what about you?” Allison inquired.
“I’m great,” she said with a smile on her face.
“Indeed, you look great,” Allison commented with a smile on her face, she was so happy to see Billy’s mum. “Where’s Billy? Is he not back? I saw his car outside.”
Allison asked to act as if everything was in the perfect place.
“He’s at the back of the building dear, he said he wants to savour some fresh air at the back,” She explained.
“Okay, I’m coming let me get into something more comfortable,” Allison said.
“Okay be fast about it, I have some gist for you dear,” she said.
“Will be right back,” Allison said and ascended the stairs.
She freshened up; had a shower and got into something more comfortable. She descended the stairs, eager to hear Billy’s mother's gist.
“Hey girl, you’re done. Have your seat let me have some words with you,” Mitchel said with a serious look.
“What’s that ma?” Allison inquired curiously.
“Who is the owner of the babies inside you?” Mitchel asked giving Allison a serious look.
“Billy of course,” she answered with a stupefied look on her face.
“Billy said he’s not the one responsible for the pregnancy, I treated you like my child and this is how you want to pay me back, giving me some else child as my grandchild. How dare you cheat on Billy after all the love that he had shown to you.”
Allison was sitting on the couch opposite Mrs. Mitchell, she was stupefied and didn’t know the words to utter.
“Can you please give me a response? He even gave you a chance you put the babies in an orphanage and there wouldn’t be a problem anymore but you refused and insisted that you would raise them. You can’t raise them here, if you insist on raising them you will have to raise them alone; all by yourself, which means a divorce,” Mrs. Mitchel said with her voice steeped in arrogance.
“I didn’t cheat, the baby belongs to him,” she pleaded.
“Billy said the baby doesn’t belong to him, just give it up,” Mitchel said.
“I can’t give them up, they belong to Billy.” She insisted.
“Are you saying Billy is lying?” Mitchel asked.
“Yes, he’s the one lying,” Allison with tears rolling down her face.
“Should we go for a DNA test?” Billy inquired, as he moved closer to the living room.
Allison was short of words and didn’t know what to say, Mitchel was staring at her eager to hear what she had to say.
After some seconds of silence watching Allison cry, Mitchel sat down with her face full of disappointment, “You disappointed me, Allison, just give the baby up and let’s avoid further argument.”
“I can’t give my baby up, I won’t dump them at the orphanage after birth.” Allison insisted and walked out on them with tears on her face. Allison ascended the stairs to the bedroom.
She opened the door and shut the door. She rested her back on the door with more tears rolling down her face, she slid her back her and sat on the floor, resting on the door.
She hit the floor out of frustration and anger, she couldn’t believe how Billy fabricated her to be the villain.
“What have I done to deserve this?” she muttered to herself in tears.
While she sat at the door soliloquizing, Billy and her mother came, knocking at the door and asking her to open the door.
“Can you people just leave me alone, I won’t give up on the babies.” She insisted.
“You will, either you give the baby up or you give up your marriage,” Mrs. Mitchel said.
“I’m not giving up on my kids,” she said firmly.
“What kind of bond is between you and the kids that’s greater than the bond between the both of us, Allison?” Billy inquired, while he was standing outside the bedroom. “Are you saying the kids are more important than us; me and you.”
“Yes they are, I’m not giving my kids up.” She insisted.
“Seriously?” Billy inquired.
“Leave her alone, I know what to do about this,” Mitchel said, moved away from the door and went back to the living room.
Billy left the door and headed to the living room. After some minutes Allison stood up from the door and strolled to the bed, she sat on the bed thinking of what to do.
A lot of question begins to pop up in her mind, asking herself if it is worth it; to sacrifice her marriage to raise the kids she doesn’t even know their father.
She believed that might seem like the outcome of it all since Billy is not ready to accept the babies as his children and she’s not also ready to give the child up.
The question Billy asked her popped up in her mind, if the bond between Billy and her is stronger than the strong between her babies?
“Is it really stronger? She soliloquized, talking to herself. She lay on the bed spreading her two hands wide-opened with a deep breath, she placed her hand on her chest and said “All is well.”
She went into a deep sleep but woke up sometime after she heard a noise from the living room, the voice sounded exactly like her father’s voice.
“it’s that Dad downstairs? Why is he here? Is it because…, arrrgggghh.” She said and lay back on the bed hitting her fist on the bed.
She opened the door discreetly, making sure it didn’t make any sound. He crept near the stairs to confirm if it was truly her father talking downstairs and glommed at the clock downstairs, to check what the time was.
It’s 6:56 pm, and she was awed when she saw what the time was. Her father’s apartment is an hour away from this place.
He tried to eavesdrop to hear clearly what the argument was about.
"I've seen Allison grow up. I never thought she would be so irresponsible.
"We've treated her so well, and she's let us down greatly.”
"It might be better for Billy to divorce her quickly. Our family can't be associated with such a scandal."
Allison hurried downstairs; her face etched with distress. Seeing her father, she managed to say, "Dad..."
James looked at his daughter with a grave expression. "Who's the father of the children?"
