Chapter 9
"President Xiao, the crocodile is in the water, it's going to eat her!" Lian's expression changed drastically. He took a harpoon from nearby and he was ready to throw it, but he hesitated thinking that it would just enrage the crocodile rather than scare it.
"Lian, you look nervous."
Peter sat down again, put a cigarette in between his lips, lit the flame with one hand, and exhaled a beautiful smoke ring. He is calm all of a sudden, as if he wasn't concerned just now.
"I..." Lian stammered and he didn't know what to say. He barely even knows the woman, did he feel pity? Concern? Sympathy? Or was it love?
"All right, Lian, I'll give her a chance." Through light cigarette smoke, Peter's cool and handsome silhouette became even more handsome, "If she can escape from there I will let her go."
"But President Xiao, you've already beaten the poor woman to submission. I'm sorry I can't—"
Peter looked at him with sharp eyes, he was serious about what he said. Lian couldn't disobey his boss' orders. He could only turn to look at the defenseless woman in the center of the pond
The water was cold and the crocodile approached slowly. They still had time.
Moreover, he had a hunch that the president wouldn't let her die, he just wanted to traumatize her and ensure she never comes back again.
But Samantha thought that this will be the end of her. Her life started to flash in front of her eyes, but she wasn't close to death yet.
When she witnessed her life up to the present moment, she realized that the thing approaching her was a crocodile. Her mind snapped right then and there. As the crocodile approached all the cold and the fear within her mind and body quickly reverted to sheer rage and fire.
"Cassandra! I hope you fucking die a horrible fucking death!"
A stern curse cut echoed throughout the cold night sky. She cried out all the bottled up hate and emotions she kept within her heart. Death was about to take her, she wanted to be truly free, just this once.
"Cassandra, I fucking curse you, you vicious bitch! I hope you die the next fucking day. I hope your children will be stillborn! I hope you get cancer, and I hope you die fucking bald! I hope Peter is the one who fucking tortures you in hell!"
People show their true colors in the face of death and she meant everything she said.
Lian felt conflicted, he could only look at Samantha with a sad expression on his face. Her words were razor sharp, but he couldn't bring himself to blame her for anything.
"You see how vicious her character is, right?" Peter stood up quickly and pointed his finger at Lian in a cold and merciless tone, "Get out of here! Anyone else watches I'll throw them in too!"
"Yes, sir." No matter how compassionate Lian was, he didn't dare to disobey his master. With a wave of his hand, all of the servants left unwillingly.
Cassandra had just arrived, she ran over in a red dress screaming, "Peter!"
Seeing the kind Cassandra, Lian was overjoyed, he looked at her with wishful eyes, hoping that she would save Samantha.
"Peter, what are you doing?" Cassandra pretended that she couldn't see anything, she threw herself into Peter's arms, and started to cry.
Peter didn't comfort her. He stood straight with his chin tightened, and his expression was ice-cold. His eyes were locked on to the woman in the pond.
The crocodile was nearby now, and Samantha screamed in terror while holding her hair, it made her look creepy, as if she was already dead.
Peter's eyes shrank, and he flicked his fingers with a calm expression. An orange pill flew out and landed in the crocodile's mouth, suddenly the crocodile went berserk.
Cassandra looked onto the pond, following the screams. She saw Samantha with a crocodile slowly approaching her. This is it the moment she's been waiting for all her life, she will die a gruesome and bloody death at the jaws of a crocodile, all while she enjoys fame and riches for the rest of her life. She had to act innocent lest she draw suspicion from Peter and Lian.
"Samantha! Peter, that's my sister! Samantha!"
All sorts of emotions were brewing from within everyone. Cassandra cried so much as she held onto Peter's waist shaking him as she tried to convince him "Peter, please! She's only twenty-one, she doesn't deserve this. Is that an alligator?"
He lowered his head and saw that the woman had already fainted. Usually he would hold her in his arms, but Samantha started to cry out again.
"Fuck! Fuck! I hope you all fucking die! God won't have any fucking mercy on you shits!"
Peter was so irritated that he pushed Cassandra into Lian's arms, and left her with cold steps. Cassandra, who only pretended to faint, was shocked with his behavior.
This was the first time that Peter treated her roughly with his bare hands. Something happened to him when Samantha appeared.
Lian held the fainted Cassandra with one hand, he glanced at his boss' back, and he saw him pour a bright blue dye into the pond. Reptiles don't like the color blue, and it is a well-known bit of advice to avoid wearing the color blue when going out in the wild to watch said reptiles.
The entire pond was heavily polluted by the blue dye, and the manic crocodile couldn't bear the sight anymore. It swam away from the rocks and onto solid ground.
Cassandra laid on Lian's shoulder, she saw this scene with her own eyes, and she immediately gritted her teeth. She wanted to take her frustration out on Lian.
Samantha wasn't dead, what would she do if what she did four years ago was exposed? Fear gripped onto Cassandra like a dead corpse, she needed her sister to die.
