Alpha Marcus' offer sounded too good to be true. And because of that, I couldn't decide just yet. If my situation with Darren had taught me anything, that would be the reality that too much happiness isn't good. There would always be a catch. That's why as Alpha Marcus was waiting for my response, I could only look down to my feet on the floor, not being able to think clearly. "Is there a problem, Milena? Did I say something wrong?" he asked, noticing how my reaction changed.
"N-No," I said, looking up to him with a sad smile. "It's just that... I have never expected this at all. Your offer is good. But I'm afraid that I'll just disappoint you. I cannot assure you that I'll become powerful in the future, Alpha Marcus. And if I can't become what you expect me to be, I'll get thrown out.
