When I got out from the house full of women, I was already wearing nice clothes and my hair was brushed. They also fed me and made sure that I wasn't hurting anywhere in my body, which I was very thankful for. "Don't thank us," said the plump woman in her mid-forties who seemed to be their leader. Her name was Roma. "We just followed Alpha Marcus' orders."
"But still, I have to be grateful to you. You still treated me nicely even though I'm half-breed."
Roma stared at me, confused. "What do you mean, 'even if you're half-breed?' Of course, we treat people the same no matter who they are."
"Oh. Sorry. I'm not just used to—"
"You're not used to people being nice to you," she completed my reply. "It seems like some packs are still prejudiced with your kind, Milena. You clearly lived in one, by the looks of it."
