Chapter 8 Two Million

The ward was well-lit, with a view of the garden outside the French windows. Bruce sat in a wheelchair, his gaze hazy and vacant as he looked out the window. "Dad," Sabrina covered her lips, unable to believe her eyes as she looked at her father. His hair was white, and the once bright eyes now lacked any shine. "Dad, do you remember me?" It seemed as though Bruce hadn't heard Sabrina's voice at all, showing no reaction. Nicole hesitated to approach. "Bruce is not very lucid, don't be too upset." Sabrina nodded, but a bitter feeling could not help but rise in her heart. Zoya, with her twin ponytails swaying, took a few steps forward, wanting to see Bruce. Kevin reached out to stop her, whispering, "Not now, wait till Mom calm down." Zoya pouted, obediently staying in place. Observing Sabrina's expression, Nicole suggested, "I've invited a specialist from abroad who has extensive experience with this type of disease." "Thank you, Nicole," Sabrina mustered up her spirits and smiled. Nicole grinned, patting her chest, "Trust me." Sabrina chuckled and waved to her precious ones, "Come here." "Grandpa," the five adorable kids chorused, looking at Bruce and calling out. Zoya, with her mischievous big eyes, scrutinized Bruce in the wheelchair. "Stay here for a while, Mommy needs to take a call," Sabrina waved her phone, turning towards the balcony. "Be good." "Got it, Mommy." Zoya blinked at her siblings, then pursed her lips in the direction where Nicole was. Kevin gave a look to Leroy. Leroy received the look and walked towards Nicole, raising his cute and charming face. "Nicole, I need to use the restroom, can you take me?" Nicole instantly melted at the sight of the Leroy's face. "Sure." She held Leroy's hand and told the other kids. "Don't wander off, I'll be right back." "Got it." Leroy winked mischievously at his siblings, giving a gesture. "Yusuf, go to the balcony and keep an eye on mom. Teresa, watch the entrance." Kevin instructed with a calm demeanor. The two split up. Kevin fetched a small stool for Zoya, helping her step onto it. "Zoya, be careful." Zoya's face turned serious, resembling Sabrina to some extent. With her short legs on the stool, she could barely reach Bruce in the wheelchair. "A little forward," Zoya stretched out a short hand to move forward, still a bit distant from Bruce. Her little face drooped, pouting. Kevin lifted Zoya, and Zoya managed to reach Bruce. Zoya checked Bruce's eyelids. Having studied medical arts under a reclusive doctor abroad, Zoya showed remarkable talent. "Zoya, are you done?" Kevin glanced at the time. A few minutes had passed, and Nicole should be back soon. "I also need to check his pulse." On the balcony, Sabrina glanced at the caller ID. William was the secretary of her detective agency she had opened abroad. "Sabrina," William's cheerful voice came from the other end. Sabrina chuckled, "Why are you calling me at this hour? Is something wrong at the agency?" Having cooperated with William for several years, they were no longer just supervisor and employee. Rather, they were like close friends. With a single move from William, Sabrina could guess his intention. "Darling, you're so clever," William exaggeratedly praised, but his tone quickly turned serious. "The agency is fine, but the investigation you asked me to do has yielded results." "Go on," Sabrina's demeanor shifted, her gaze falling on the flowers and plants outside. "Travis Blair, CEO of the Blair Creations, 28 years old, unmarried." "This person is ruthless, cold-hearted, and the Blair Creations has flourished under his leadership in recent years." Travis Blair. Sabrina caught onto this name, the image from today flashing through her mind. "Tell me something useful." "According to the investigation, Travis avoids female company. There's no woman close to him." Sabrina smirked, "Not in the past, but he's about to have one now." Travis, huh? A man that Georgia has set her sights on is probably of her ilk. "Tell Georgia she needs to add funds." "How much?" William inquired. "As the head of the Blair Creations, he must be worth several million." Sabrina lifted her lips confidently and smiled. "Tell Georgia to prepare two million." "And, send me Travis's schedule before 8 pm." One of the reasons she returned this time was because of the order placed by Georgia at her firm. Georgia quoted one million and asked the firm to help her seduce a man. Georgia seduced Milo, and Sabrina hadn't sought revenge yet. She didn't expect Georgia to hand her an opportunity, and with money. One mustn't miss out on the enemy's money. Two million is no small amount for the declining Navarro Creations. ... Georgia paced nervously, awaiting news. She had placed a hefty order with a detective agency, which she had heard about before. It was known for taking on any legal task and maintaining a one hundred percent success rate. Georgia complained. "Mom, why hasn't the agency contacted me yet?" "They agreed to take the order, and yet no one has contacted me yet!" Polly remained calmer than Georgia. "Don't worry, it's a reputable agency, they won't deceive us." Georgia frowned. Just then, the phone on the table suddenly rang, and Georgia eagerly answered. William's cold voice came through, "Georgia, after our investigation, we find your order too difficult, and we suggest increasing the payment." "What?" Georgia's expression changed abruptly. Polly grabbed her daughter's hand, asking, "How much?" "Two million." Polly quickly made a decision, "We'll pay."
