Chapter 4: Aborting the Child

Eden sat in his seat, emanating a fierce aura, his gaze fixed on Sarina. Sivia was also somewhat taken aback, her tone slightly reproachful. "Eden, you scared her." Looking at Sarina, her initial reaction was indeed like a startled rabbit. The tenderness in Eden's eyes softened slightly, and he grunted, leaning back in his seat. Sarina felt a bitterness in her mouth; indeed, Sivia's words immediately struck a chord with him. She felt the atmosphere becoming oppressive, and she didn't want to witness any intimate moments between them. She found a casual excuse, "I still have some things to take care of, so I'll go back first." Before Eden could speak, she turned and left. Eden stared at her departing figure for a long time, his expression somewhat complex. Sivia naturally sensed his unusual mood. Though she didn't understand, she still spoke up, "Eden, take care of Sarina. She's running a fever and can't be forced to work like this; it's not good for her health." Eden frowned and nodded. He did want the woman to rest, but she seemed like a workaholic. Back in her office, Sarina felt incredibly uncomfortable all over, and her vision began to blur. Emily came in with a glass of water, worried. "Sarina, maybe you should go to the hospital." Facing Emily's concern, Sarina just took a sip of water and waved her hand, refusing, "Thank you, I'll be fine after resting for a while." Seeing Sarina's insistence, Emily could only give up, expressing her concern before leaving. She lay on the desk, and soon the exhaustion overcame her, and she drifted into a dream. She dreamt of the past when her family hadn't fallen, and she was the beloved princess. That was also the first time she saw Eden, a robust and handsome man who moved in next door. The soft sunlight fell on him, making him shine like an angel descended to earth. But when she faced Eden directly, she realized her previous thoughts were completely wrong. Eden's gaze was sharp, exuding a primitive wildness from within, and being stared at by him gave a powerful sense of oppression. It was because of that gaze that she fell for him. Young love is beautiful, but also cruel. She often visited Eden's house, gradually getting to know some of his friends, including one named Eureka, who was also Eden's best friend. She held flowers, wanting to go find Eden and express her feelings, but before she reached the door, she heard their conversation. "Eden, I've noticed that Sarina from next door often comes to see you. What's going on? Are you actually developing feelings for someone like her? It's not like you." Eureka deliberately emphasized the word "human," his tone playful. Her footsteps halted. It wasn't intentional eavesdropping; she just wanted to know what Eden thought of her. Clear and resonant, Eden's voice soon rang out, "Before taming, one must be domesticated. Aren't you the same?" Eureka's laughter gradually echoed, "Indeed, that's you. You're about to have your coming-of-age ceremony, right? How about it? Are you going to see Sivia? She saved your life back then. You were caught in a trap and almost died." Eden remained silent for a long time before finally replying, "I know, I'll definitely treat her well." Hearing the last sentence, Sarina's body suddenly stiffened, and the flowers in her hand all fell. She forgot how she ran back home at that time, and she didn't expect Sivia to have saved Eden's life, almost losing hers in the process. Thinking back, she had experienced such a moment too. She was covered in blood lying in the jungle, and when she opened her eyes again, she was already in the hospital. The details of that time were forgotten, completely unrecallable. She wished she had also saved Eden's life. Then, wouldn't the disparity in their status be temporarily overlooked by him? Her breath became increasingly rapid, almost unable to breathe, struggling to breathe. In the blurry darkness, Eden's face suddenly appeared. He pulled her out of the darkness and then emotionlessly pushed her aside. His voice was as cold as the water in a frigid pond, making people ache. "Sarina, you don't deserve to have my child." As soon as the words fell, a delicate woman appeared behind him, nestling in Sarina's arms, smiling lightly, "Eden and I are a natural pair. You won't last long with him." As she spoke, Sivia's eyes suddenly became sharp. The two large tails entwined, reluctant to part. Perhaps because she didn't wait for her answer, Eden gradually walked towards her, his emerald eyes filled with killing intent, sharp teeth bared, making him look terrifying. He reached out and grabbed her neck, the veins on his forehead gradually bulging, his voice coming out one word at a time, "Don't force me to kill you." His fingers suddenly tightened, making it hard for Sarina to breathe. The next moment, fur rapidly grew on Eden's body, his skin bursting open, and soon, a giant wolf full of wildness appeared before her, opening its mouth to swallow her whole. "No!" Sarina suddenly opened her eyes, cold sweat pouring down her body, still not fully recovered from the shock just now. "Sarina, are you okay?" A pair of chilly hands covered her forehead, sounding worried. Sarina looked up, meeting Sivia's captivating face. She breathed a sigh of relief. "You scared me. I tried calling you, but you didn't wake up." Sarina's pupils slightly dilated, feeling puzzled. How did Sivia get here? Soon, she realized she was in the car, and as she looked forward, Eden was driving. "Are you awake? I'll take you to the hospital now, and you can take some medicine and rest." Sarina was already on edge due to the nightmare just now, and when she heard Eden's words, she became even more nervous. "I'm fine, no need to go to the hospital." Upon hearing this, Eden's tone became somewhat displeased. "Not going to the hospital? Do you know what you look like with a fever? Are you planning to tough it out on your own?" Sivia also nodded, "Yes, don't be stubborn. How did you suddenly get a fever? Human bodies are fragile, and look at the injuries on you." Sarina bit her lip, not saying anything, feeling a mix of emotions. Yesterday's events, Sivia must have been present as well. Sivia seemed to suddenly remember something, her eyes showing a hint of apology, "Was it yesterday..." Before she could finish, Eden interrupted her. "Let's go to the hospital first. Forget about everything else for now." Sarina glanced at him, feeling somewhat heavy-hearted. He really cares, not allowing her to endure any grievances. "No need, I'm fine." Eden's voice carried a hint of anger, "Not going to the hospital? Where are you planning to go then?"
