Chapter 3: Abortion

Feeling the itch on her leg, Sarina couldn't help but twitch. But this action pricked Eden's eyes. Did this woman originally hate his touch so much? The two looked at each other silently. Sarina keenly sensed that something was off with Eden's mood. In the end, she pursed her lips and kept her words to herself. The night wind was chilly, and Eden knew she was afraid of the cold. He usually held her close when they slept, but today, there was an unusual distance between them. Curling up, Sarina couldn't help but shiver. A warm breath covered her instantly, and she gradually sank into slumber. But the next day, she found herself still feeling sick, dizzy. Sarina got up and went to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face. She absentmindedly picked up a cup from the table and took a sip. The next moment, a strong smell of alcohol rushed up. Sarina's pupils suddenly shrank, hastily spitting out the liquid and rinsing her mouth with water. At that moment, Eden came out of the adjacent cloakroom, seeing Sarina's state, his eyebrows furrowed. "What's wrong with you?" Sarina shook her head, wiping the water from the corner of her mouth. He noticed the cup nearby, scratching his head as he explained, "I poured some alcohol last night, didn't pay attention to whose cup it was, sorry." Although they were nominally husband and wife, even their cups were separate. Taking a deep breath, Sarina made sure the alcohol taste was gone from her mouth before she relaxed. Looking at Sarina's back, Eden sniffed a few times, frowning. "What's wrong with you? I smell something strange on you." Not a bad smell, more like a pheromone. Sarina's heart tightened, sighing as she explained, "Maybe I'm just not feeling well lately." Saying that, she left. She felt a little nervous at the moment. She forgot that Eden was a wolf, with a keen sense of smell. But she never expected him to detect even the slightest change in her body. Eden's eyes darkened slightly, his gaze locked on Sarina's back. He always felt Sarina was acting strangely, as if she was hiding something from him. Downstairs, Eden jingled the car keys. "Let's go, I'll drive you to work. Wang is resting today, and I also want to practice." Sarina didn't refuse, but the phone rang again at an inappropriate time. She got into the car ahead, using the car door to block out the sound from outside, turning her head away. Almost without thinking, Sarina knew who was calling. Eden didn't like being bothered by calls early in the morning, but there was only one person he wouldn't mind. She felt a bit ridiculous. At the moment when Eden cared about her in the morning, she actually wanted to tell him about the pregnancy, but this thought was quickly suppressed by Sarina. If she had said it then, Eden would definitely not want the child. He said humans were unworthy of noble wolves. Telling him would only make him feel like she was defiling their bloodline. Yes, and it would also defile Sivia, the woman she held dearly in her heart. Eden answered the call, naturally noticing Sarina's indifferent expression. He suddenly felt uncomfortable. At the company's entrance, Sarina quickly got out of the car, just nodding slightly at Eden before walking inside. Because she was feeling a bit weak, Eden had once said that he looked down on human weakness the most, whether it was in courage or physical strength, they couldn't compare to them. Perhaps out of vanity, she didn't want Eden to see her in this state. "Sarina!" A young and beautiful woman came over, Emily, Sarina's assistant. A very diligent girl because of her outstanding abilities, Sarina kept her by her side. But as soon as Sarina saw Emily, her body was out of control, her vision blurred, and she fell forward. After hearing a scream, everything went silent. When she opened her eyes again, she was in her office. Emily was looking at her worriedly, asking softly, "Sarina, are you feeling any better? You look so pale, are you really uncomfortable?" A headache hit her, and Sarina gritted her teeth, closing her eyes. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead, and her lips became paler. Emily hurriedly put her hand on Sarina's forehead, feeling the burning heat. She exclaimed, "Sarina, you have a high fever. I'll go help you ask for leave. You should rest." Hearing this, Sarina quickly grabbed her arm. Feeling weak all over, she shook her head. "I'm fine, no need to ask for leave." Although she had a headache, she thought she could hold on for a while. After all, she didn't want to fall behind on her work progress. But she never expected that the only person who cared so much about her was just an assistant she had barely greeted. Struggling to get up, ignoring Emily's obstruction, she took out the files she had prepared from the drawer, covering her lip color with lipstick, but her complexion still looked terrible. "I'm going to get the manager to sign this." After saying that, Sarina walked out of the office. Maybe it was because of the fever, but she felt light-headed. After knocking a few times, there was finally a response from inside. Sarina slowly pushed open the door and immediately noticed a figure in the office, with distinct and sharp features, perfectly outlining his body curves. His eyes were deep and clear, and he exuded charm. "Sarina?" Sivia's tone contained a hint of joy as she approached Sarina. Sarina scanned the office and noticed that there were only the two of them inside. She forced a smile. So she had knocked so many times and no one had answered because he was busy talking to his lover. No wonder he didn't notice her. Eden sat at his desk, his eyes slightly narrowed, a dangerous look in them as he stared at Sarina. Sivia sighed and gently touched Sarina's shoulder. "Sarina, I know Eden has a fiery temper. I guess you've seen what he's like, right?" Sarina nodded. She raised her eyes and clearly saw Sivia's eyes, which were also a gem-like emerald green. Her heart trembled even more. Yes, she should have thought of it earlier. The person she held in her heart must naturally have a noble bloodline, not human. Sivia patted Sarina's shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, Eden won't do anything to you. He always values his prey." As soon as she finished speaking, the moment her fingertips touched Sarina's skin, she suddenly exclaimed, "Sarina, what's wrong with you? Why is your body so hot?" Eden's black pupils instantly sharpened, staring fixedly at Sarina. "Uncomfortable? Go rest! What are you doing standing here?" Perhaps Eden's tone was too angry, and Sarina's body trembled. Why was he angry?
