Chapter 2: Divorce
Looking at Eden's departing figure, Sarina's eyes reddened, her inner grievances reaching their peak.
She had gotten hurt because she went to see him. Unexpectedly, the first thing he said upon seeing her wound wasn't concern, but blame.
After wrapping the wound with a bandage, Sarina went upstairs.
The prenatal examination report in her hand was crumpled, and her eyes lit up slightly, as if she understood something, then dimmed instantly.
Sarina knew Eden too well. He wasn't the kind of boring person who would dismiss her when she arrived at the bar.
With that thought, bitterness crept onto her face, her pupils trembling slightly as she focused on the report.
After a long silence, she threw it into the trash.
Since the life that wasn't welcome, there was no need to mention it.
Eden, with his back turned to her, took off his shirt, blending into the moonlight, resembling a hidden beast in the night, his sharp bright eyes gleaming.
If you looked closely, you could see a furry tail hanging beside his long legs.
Hearing a sound, Eden turned his head, his emerald eyes staring at her intently.
At that moment, Sarina felt like a captured prey.
"Done?" Eden's lazy voice rang out, carrying a hint of hoarseness.
Sarina nodded, sitting on the edge of the bed, her long hair falling loosely, outlining her smooth, fair neck and the pulsating veins under her rosy skin.
This version of Sarina was irresistible to Eden. He licked his lips lightly, his gaze becoming greedy.
Sarina suddenly floated up, and Eden held her horizontally, startling her into instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck. She clearly saw his tail flick twice.
Eden revealed two sharp fangs, gently licking the corner of Sarina's lips with his tongue.
As their lips entangled, their breaths quickened, and a subtle ambiguity filled the air.
"Sarina..." Eden bit her earlobe, his voice firm and highly seductive.
Sarina's eyes trembled slightly, filled with deep affection, and she softly replied, "You used to hate becoming like this the most, right? What happened today?"
She glanced at Eden's two furry ears. Wolves were said to be dangerous animals, but this version of Eden made her feel closer to him.
Before Eden could speak, a hurried ringtone interrupted, shattering the atmosphere, and Sarina suddenly snapped out of it.
She really wanted to ask if Eden emitted pheromones when he turned into a werewolf. Each time, it made her almost lose control.
Eden placed her back on the bed, a hint of annoyance in his brows. After all, it was annoying to be interrupted during a good time.
But Sarina clearly saw Eden's eyebrows relax as he glanced at the incoming call on the screen, and even a hint of excitement appeared on his lips.
He walked to the balcony, but his voice still reached Sarina's ears.
"What's wrong? Miss me? Go to bed early, don't stay up too late."
His gentle tone made Sarina somewhat incredulous. This was Eden's voice.
He had once said that wolves wouldn't reveal their weakness to anyone except their significant other.
In Sarina's mind, everything was clear.
The name Syvia gradually surfaced in her mind. She tried hard to force a smile, hoping to alleviate her pain, but it only made her smile more bitter.
Sarina took a deep breath, memories flashing in her mind. She remembered everything from the beginning.
Her family's downfall, debts, being chased, and even those creditors who wanted to send her to the technical institute to pay off her debts.
Before that, she had been a princess on a pedestal, not caring about anything, whether it was wealth or men. She was called the purest princess in the entire Rio state.
In her direst moment, those who had once supported her turned into demons, devouring her blood and soul.
In the end, she made a bold decision - to seek death.
But then Eden appeared, like a ray of light, illuminating her dim life once again.
He lifted her from the ground, his tall figure standing out among the crowd, exceptionally eye-catching.
She always felt that Eden was different from others, not just different, but taller, more handsome, and his entire aura made people shiver.
In her eyes, Eden was more like an arrogant beast.
He helped her pay off all her debts and even said to her, "Marry me."
She couldn't believe it, but Eden laughed and said, "The prey I choose never escapes."
Even when he said sweet words, this man was still strange.
That was Sarina's initial thought, until one night, bathed in moonlight, she saw Eden's true Edentity.
Indeed, he was an arrogant beast.
Thinking of this, drowsiness swept over her, and Sarina felt her eyelids heavy. Leaning against the headboard, she gradually entered dreamland.
Eden walked in after finishing the call, seeing this scene.
The woman's long hair scattered, her beautiful face partially obscured, this scene was like the most beautiful picture of the night.
Eden slowly lifted her, not realizing that even his tail was wagging involuntarily.
Sarina's consciousness was shallow, and she opened her eyes immediately, groggily asking, "Are you done chatting?"
"Yeah, are you tired so soon? Get some rest, I'll talk to you tomorrow." Eden's voice was gentle.
For a moment, Sarina felt like she was hallucinating. She blinked a few times, her mind becoming clearer.
"It's okay, go ahead and speak now."
She struggled out of Eden's embrace, sitting on the edge of the bed, a faint smile on her face.
She had a premonition of what Eden was about to say, but she thought it was better to get it over with tonight. Maybe she could finally let go?
Unable to resist her, Eden turned his head and retracted his tail and other features, his voice very soft as it floated into Sarina's ears.
"Let's get a divorce."
These words, Sarina had expected them, but hearing them from Eden's mouth still left a bitter taste in her mouth.
After a moment of silence, she nodded, her expression calm. "Okay, when do you want to do it?"
Eden's eyes narrowed slightly. "In a while."
He reached out and picked up Sarina's hair, feeling a sense of confusion in his heart.
Well, she had agreed to marry him in the first place because of the benefits, not out of love.
Moreover, now that she knew his true appearance, she probably just wanted to run away, right?
"Eden," she called softly.
"What?" Eden answered quickly, his tail suddenly appearing and rubbing against Sarina's small leg.
