ARIEL'S POV
I punched the number into my phone; my heart filled up with intense indignation as the call connected. Harriet's voice greeted me.
"Hello, darling. So nice of you to call."
I clenched my teeth, trying to keep my voice steady. "Harriet, you're crazy, do you know that? Haven't you done enough damage already?"
She chuckled, her amusement palpable. "Oh, Ariel, always so fiery. You really are Luke's type, aren't you?"
My blood boiled at her mention of Luke's name. "You stay away from my husband."
"Come now, darling. It’s not like he’s out of your reach,” she taunted. “Or are you afraid I’ll steal him away? Don’t worry, I won’t touch him. Not physically, at least. I just want you to know what it’s like to live in fear."
