Chapter 7

Charles arrived in a castle. Despite being in a modern world, the castle was built on the edge of an ocean. Charles had to spend six hours before getting there. Normally, he shouldn't have spent more than three hours but since he was in pain, he had to be taking rest. He was furious but also curious to know what exactly was happening. Why would he get a heart ache meeting the lady? He was embarrassed at himself. A whole enchanted killer getting a heartache? How come? "Fuck! I should have managed to see her face!" He blamed himself. Killing Edward made him happy but getting hurt by a stranger got him annoyed. He was expecting to get sad just a few hours after a successful mission. The castle was protected with formation. Not just anybody can enter unless your magical power attains a certain level. It was heard that some Spirit from hell built the castle and handed it over to a wizard, who was a descendant of the moon goddess. He was cursed when he was born. His birth wasn't supposed to happen because he was the aftermath of a love story between a demonic vampire and the moon goddess. Though he was bestowed the power of seeing the unseen, knowing everything and hearing from a very far distance he was blind. His two eyes were taken away and he was also immortal. Mostly, they called him the wise man but some classified him to be a wizard. He was a combination of different mystical powers. Charles stood in front of the castle, doing formation to open the door. The door opened after a few seconds but he had just a few minutes to use it with the wise man, or else he would get trapped which may cause his death. "Wise man" he called, breathing heavily. "I'm in pain, please help me" he begged. The man stared at him for a few seconds before proceeding to get him a cup of water from a clay pot. Charles gulped the water at once. It was crystal-coloured and it tasted bitter. He didn't mind the taste. He groaned loudly immediately as the water landed in his stomach but within a few seconds, he got relieved. "Thank you, Wiseman, thank you," he said, almost in a whispering tone. "You ain't meant to meet her. There is a great challenge in front of you and I don't think you can overcome it" Wiseman uttered. "What? Stop speaking in parables, please. Who is that lady and what power does she possess? I am in pain when I meet her. Why?" He roared, letting his voice echo throughout the castle. Instead of the Wiseman responding to him, he began to laugh. "Shit! I've just a few seconds. I'll come back the other time to ask for more" he rushed out of the castle. His power can only open the castle for five minutes and he can only open it once a year. He sat down lonely at the sea thinking about what he heard from the Wiseman. "I need to find her! Now" he was determined. Not too long, he got a notification from his phone, indicating his boss wanted to see him. He has to rush to where he can easily get a taxi. He was given thirty minutes to arrive but was stuck in traffic. "Is there another route?" He asked the driver, checking the time on his wristwatch. The driver, who was listening to music, did hear him well. Instead, he kept nodding his head, following the music rhyme.. "Hello" Charles called again, tapping the driver. The driver, thinking he was being tapped for a clear road, pulled the gear and collided with another taxi In front of him. As the collision occurred suddenly, Charles also smashed his head on the dashboard. "Fuck! Why did you tap me when you know we are still In traffic?" The annoyed driver asked. Charles was stunned! How would he explain to the driver that he only tapped him to seek for another faster route. "Are you blind? Can't you see that your tapping made me collide with another car?" He yelled at Charles. On a normal day, Dayles wouldn't waste any time to waste his life If he was on a mission. The owner of the taxi in front also stepped down to check the condition of the situation. To prevent from getting in later, Charles had to apologize to the duos and pay for damages before stepping down from the taxi. He began to run, In order to keep up with the time. Though, it's unusual for him to get punished but he wouldn't wanna disappoint his Master. He kept running, not minding the far distance. There was a teenager who held onto a scooter just for fun coming in his direction. Charles didn't mind since he had no business with either the teenager or the scooter. He was still on the run when a bicycle from nowhere crashed into the scooter. The little teenager wailed in pain. Charles paused for a while, studying the situation. Not only the thought of a more bicycle crushing a scooter amazed him but the smirk on the rider. Normally, if a bicycle collides with a scooter it shouldn't cause damage but seeing the teenager wailing on the ground, the bicycle rider must have been someone with a high force. He was still standing when the bicycle rider passed by his side. Charles perceived the odor immediately. He sniffed his nose again for confirmation and he was Right! It smells like a Spirit. Not an ordinary spirit but the one that was under punishment in hell and ran away to cause commotion on the earth. "Fuck" he cursed, knowing a disaster was going to happen soon. Without hesitating twice, Charles followed him. The spirit noticed Charles' presence and also began to increase his speed. Charles, not forgetting he had a call to answer but had to save the city, people kept following him. He was still tailing when the road television announced the Mysterious death of ten people within five hours. The escaped Spirit of the hell successfully lured Charles into the woods. Charles didn't notice the direction and his current location till the spirit stopped, smirking and swiveled back to face Charles. "Hello Killer" came his voice. "What are you doing here? What's your mission on this earth? Ain't you tired of killing innocent people?" Charles bombarded him with a series of questions. The spirit let out a devilish laugh. "Don't you know there is nothing sweet like freedom? I've missed mingling with people and I only need them to feel my presence. Getting chained for fifty years wasn't a joke, so I need bloods to feed on, which I'm gonna get, including yours if care isn't taken. Turn back and leave, that's the only way to guarantee your life" he roared. Charles recognized him immediately when he saw the golden snake mark sparkling on his forehead. His master explained some Spirit of the hell to him, he was still undergoing training. The snake spirit was chained when he began to kill people for fun and made drinking human blood a hobby. A wizard, who was a descendant of water goodness, volunteered to catch them, including other wicked spirits and he succeeded. Seeing the snake spirit means there was an outbreak in the hell prison, which gave the prisoners chances to escape and come back to the living world. Shit! They are not less than three spirits that were chained. Charles, pretending to have heard him, turned back to leave. But suddenly stopped and he charged at him. The Spirit instantly turned into his original form, Snake, and c, charged against Charles. The anaconda snake was huger than Charles had thought, probably because it was over two hundred years of age. The snake used its tail to smash Charles back against a tree, he groaned in pain but stood up immediately. The snake was annoyed, he kept slapping Charles with his tail till he was able to grab the tail and mount on it. The snake began to roll around in order to make Charles feel dizzy and probably to smash his head on the tree. Charles did a formation to weaken the snake but it dodged it and that vexed him more. Charles dropped from the snake's tail. He picked a log of wood he saw on the floor and hurriedly inserted it in his mouth when it wanted to attack him with his mouth open so that it could swallow him and save the stress. The snake annoyingly spits the wood out. Charles did another formation that landed him on a particular tall tree. The snake also began to climb the tree. Few meters to reach Charles, he chanted some spells to activate the fire firepower from Edward and charged it toward the snake. It was only focusing on killing Charles, not knowing he was planning to ignite the fire. There was a fire that striked from Charles' palm and landed on the Snake's body, causing his body to burn immediately, leaving no part unburnt. "You should not have left the hell prison" Charles murmured, looking at his wounded body that was bleeding profusely. Slowly, his energy began to fail him and he also collapsed.
