Chapter 6

Charles was looking at Edward's dead body that was on the ground. He didn't think it would be a success but he was glad to have fulfilled the mission. He wanted to leave his corpse when an idea struck into his head. "It's not possible for Edward to die without having anything on his body. He even died, smiling. Maybe inside his body is a magic substance to wake him later in the day" he thought, then bent to his level, and began to search his body. What he first found was a picture of a young lady. Her hair was very long and she dressed elegantly. In the picture, she was holding a sword with a dragon, inscribed on it and her eyeballs were gray "Who could she be?" He questioned no one in particular. "Is she Edward's daughter?" By the look of the picture, it was obvious that the lady was young. If Charles hadn't killed Edwards, he may have managed to absorb his fragment, knowing the identity of the lady but the deed has been done. Charles kept the picture inside his pocket, looking for another thing. He later found a ring inside Edward's inner pocket. Charles picked up the ring and his finger instantly burnt. He threw it on the floor. Although Edward was known for his ability to control fire, he wasn't expecting to find a fire ring. He smirked after. It would be of good use to him. He was never bestowed with fire magic and seeing the ring may be of help. Charles closed his eyes, reciting some incantation words while raising his fingers on the ring. Instantly, a flash occurred from his fingers to the ring and it got froze. Yes! He has the power of ice and now, he has gotten the fire ring. Being an assassin who kills without leaving a trace, he needed to eradicate any suspicious thing that may trigger an investigation on Edward. Though he had no wife or children being one of the ten most powerful Sorcerers, his death would be investigated. Charles picked up the ring and wore it on his finger. A light struck his body, overpowering him with a breeze that swept his feet off the ground and smashed his body against the wall. "Argh" he wailed In pain but he felt an additional power had been added to his magical powers. After that, he didn't continue searching but rather sat in the same spot since his body was weak. He sat for fifteen minutes before he was able to manage to Stand back on his feet. He moved closer to Edward's lifeless body and did some formation. Within two seconds, fire commenced to ignite on Edward's body. He knew some people may noticed the flame for the far but they would thought Edward was practicing some magic. If his body was burnt, they may think something went wrong during his magical training but it wasn't gonna stop there since Edward was someone who controls fire, he would surely know a way to quench fire if things got bad. He made sure his body burnt and turned into ashes. Not finding any trace of Edward means he traveled to another world, seeking additional power. He gathered his ashes and blew them away into the ocean, making sure no trace of him would be found. After that, he moved to Philip, who was unconscious at the moment. Charles chanted some words while placing his hands on Philips's head, formatting his memories of twelve months ago. According to what Charles heard and confirmed, Edward always used the teenagers for his experience and for Philip to still be alive, which means he had not stayed long with Edward. Therefore eradicated just twelve months of memories from his head before vacating the Island. He knew Philip would wake up soon and would wonder what he was doing on the lonely island. Charles first went into a restaurant. He vanished and needed to refill his energy before proceeding on his journey. To him, food is very important and is his energy. When he was being trained, he was starved of food severely, so since then, he always eats to his satisfaction whenever he gets the chance. Philip on the other side, woke up dizzyly. He yawned loudly, making it obviously to have slept well. "What am I doing here?" He asked, glaring at the lonely island. He saw some herbal root beside him and smiled. "I may have slept off while harvesting this, silly me," he said, not knowing Charles was the one that placed the root beside him. From his fragment, he was able to smell herbs, which signified he just have been dealing with herbs before getting on the island. He took the root and left the island also, not without shooting the place a final glare. Charles was eating, when he heard the voice of a small boy who was being beaten opposite the restaurant. He initially paid deaf ears to it but at a point, the voice was echoing inside his head. "Not again, Charles. Focus" he told himself. He was trying not to get distracted but it seemed impossible. When he couldn't take it anymore, he left his food to see what was wrong with the boy. Before he could get there, a lady had shown up. "What did he do to deserve this beating?" She asked the old woman who was flogging the poor boy. "He stole my money. My ten dollars! The boy is a thief" the old woman complained bitterly. "Hey, what do you wanna use the money for?" The lady asked the boy. "I'm hungry and was left with no other choice. I wouldn't have stolen from her" The boy sobbed. The young lady returned the woman's money and also gave the boy some money to buy food. She was about to leave when Charles felt something unusual. Thought he was unable to see her face due to the face cap she was putting on but Charles was able to see her backside. Charles's heart was burning and the pain was getting intense. He has to hold his chest region, groaning slowly in pain. The last time something like that happened to him was when he was twelve years old and his master had to get him some magical water before it relieved him. Like a flash of light, the pain subsided a bit when the lady vanished. "Who could she be?" He questions himself, dragging his body away from the restaurant to look for the cure since the pain was still there but only got reduced.
