Chapter 3
Reilley's POV
Finally, it was the first day of school.
It was a heartbreaking moment but I managed to calm my mom down. She still doesn't want to see me leave and I couldn't do anything about it. The school service will be here soon.
"Mom please let me know if something's up. Don't hesitate to give me a call," I told her. She smiled and nodded. I can see her eyes sparkling and ready to tear up. I hugged my mom for the last time before opening the car's backseat.
"Take care mom," I whispered. She smiled as a tear fell down her eyes. I entered the car and waved at her.
The driver started the engine and I watched my mom's figure get smaller and smaller and smaller... and gone.
I smiled weakly.
"You're a new student?" the driver asked. I lifted my head to look at him through the rear-view mirror and smiled.
"Yes, sir. I am Reilley Lannes," I introduced myself. He stared at me for a few seconds before shrugging his shoulders.
"You're a good kid. Must be a scholar?" he asked. I raised my brows bemusedly. What does he mean by that?
"Yes, sir. I am a scholar," I answered politely. He didn't stop there and entertained me with his talkative self. I learned that his name is Harold. He's been working as a school service for ten years. He's pretty cool I must say.
I thought he'd be intimidating because of his tough physical appearance but he's actually kind of cool. That made me feel less nervous. I hope all the professors are like him.
I hugged my bag and watch the view from the window. We're passing by the beautiful streets of Felona City. I'm still nervous. I was told that I'm going to have a roommate. I hope he'll be cool. Not a big fan of sharing a room with someone but it's not like I have a choice.
It didn't last long. We headed to the university right away. My heart is pounding so freaking bad when we've actually reached the gate. I see tons of students walking in their different outfits. Apparently, we don't have uniforms in here.
"Let me help you," Harold said and snatched my bags. I looked at him and smiled.
"Thanks."
"You should go to the office. I'm sure that Miss Cuentory is waiting for you," he said in a friendly tone. I smiled nervously and scan the tall building before me. I heaved a sigh. "What about the bags?" I asked him. He glanced at me.
"You go get your keys and I'll wait for you on the dormitory." He smiles.
I squeezed my bad and forced a smile. Hell yeah. I guess I'll go there all by myself?
My eyes landed on the group of boys staring at me. I gulped nervously and looked away. Why were they looking at me?
"I'll be right back," I told him and entered the huge door.
It was a very weird sensation that I felt when I stepped a foot inside. I couldn't explain the feeling. It's just that... It feels like my world is about to change.
"Watch out!"
I was about to follow the voice that rang my ears when a hard object hit my face really hard. The pain crossed my face immediately. The ball bounced playfully and a familiar guy caught it. He has a huge smirk on his face. I raised my hand to confront the rude man but everything went black.
____
"Is he dead?"
"Shut up, Trevor."
"What if he is?"
"Then that's great. Imagine killing someone by hitting them on the face with a ball. Hahaha!"
The voices wake my poor consciousness. I tried to move my finger and open my eyes but the pain stopped me. I groaned.
"He's awake!"
"We can see it, Leo."
I opened my eyes slowly to see bright figures of three men looking down at me. I squinted my eyes to see them clearer and my eyes widened when I saw their faces.
Oh my gosh! Why are there handsome faces in here? Am I dead? Is this heaven?
I scanned their faces. There's a guy leaning on a study table staring at me. His eyes are brown and he has a slicked back hairstyle. My eyes landed to the guy beside him sitting on the study chair staring at me as well. His eyes are blue and he's blonde.
"Hello!" a voice chirped in my ear. I scooted away and look at the guy beside me with frightened eyes. When did he get so close? I didn't see him.
He looks Asian. His hair is blue? He has an Asian undercut hairstyle. It looks good on him to be honest. His wide smile is scaring the hell out of me. Who the hell are they? And where the hell am I?
I scanned the room and my lips parted when I saw my bags in the corner. Is this my room?
"I'm sorry about the ball. It was an accident, I promised!" the blue haired guy said. I frowned at him. I don't know what to say. I do remember the ball but they weren't the ones I saw when I passed out.
"W—Who are you?" I stuttered.
"I love your voice!" the Asian gay said and pulled me closer to him. My heart started pounding so freaking bad. Don't touch me!
"I am Leo," he introduced himself. "The blonde one is Luke and the guy beside him is Trevor." He pointed the two guys. The Trevor guy just shrugged his shoulders while Luke give me a short smile. I did the same awkwardly.
They're all my roommates? But there are two beds only.
"I'm sorry about what Deavon did to you. I'm sure he didn't mean it," Luke said. My forehead creased. So they aren't complete yet? The guy who actually throw the ball at me wasn't them. It's the Deavon guy. So where is he?
"We were actually quite worried for you because he's going to be your roommate," Trevor spits. I looked at him confusedly. What the hell are they talking about?
"He's known as the campus' devil," Leo whispers. "In fact, I was lying. The ball hitting your face wasn't an accident. Deavon throw it at you intentionally."
