Chapter 15 She Pushed Me
To entertain them?
Of course, Natalie knew that Dalia was satirizing her as a plaything.
Kenneth sat aside expressionlessly.
He didn’t intend to help Natalie.
This was what Natalie asked for.
Natalie knew she couldn't be against the Bentley family.
"Miss Bentley, you must be joking. I have no special skills, so I can't entertain. I'm leaving." Then she was about to leave.
Kenneth held her wrist, looked coldly at Melina and Dalia and asked, "She won't be entertaining. Miss Bentley, how about you teach her?"
Dalia's pretty face was filled with awkwardness.
Melina glanced angrily at Kenneth, knowing that he was angry. She compromised, "Forget it. It's just a matter of a set of tableware."
Natalie wanted to leave.
But Kenneth wouldn't allow it.
Was he trying to keep her humiliated?
Because of the woman he loved?
There was another strange thing.
That was, Dalia was insinuated by Kenneth, and Elwood didn't speak for Dalia.
The relationship between the brother and sister was a bit... Strange.
Dinner was served soon.
Melina arranged for Kenneth and Dalia to sit together.
Natalie sat next to Elwood at the end of the table.
She only wished Melina to forget her existence and make a match between Kenneth and Dalia.
Elwood, holding a red wine glass, looked at Natalie with a smile and asked meanfully, "Your name is Natalie Lama?"
"Yes." Natalie nodded.
"You look like someone I know. How old are you?"
"Twenty-four." Natalie replied after a while.
Elwood squinted. Natalie's last name and age were right.
Was she really the one he was looking for?
Natalie felt a gaze. When she looked up, she found it was Kenneth.
She immediately lowered her head to eat.
Elwood's eyes fixed on Natalie for a long time.
After dinner.
"Natalie, I'm sorry, the servants at home are very busy and there are no extra people." Millie said with her head held high. "Would you please help us wash the plates?"
Natalie paused.
Millie really pushed her luck.
But Natalie had no choice.
After all, she was just a secretary.
"Can't the Hussain family even afford maids?" Elwood asked suddenly.
"Mr. Bentley, sorry you let you see this. My stepmother has always been not noble-spirited and doesn't know how to be a wealthy lady at all. She only knows the tricks of abusing her daughter-in-law."
Millie froze, her face burning.
Melina attached great importance to dignity and reputation.
Although Melina loved her younger grandson, she didn't like Millie so much.
But she would never ask Millie to do the dishes.
Because it was a shame if it was known by outsiders.
It was not like the Hussain family couldn't afford servants.
Yet what Millie had done was humiliating Melina.
Kenneth raised his voice and called the servants out.
All the servants at home stood at the door of the dining room.
"You're all fired." Kenneth's tone was tepid.
The servants froze.
What did they do wrong? !
Even Melina was surprised, "Kenneth, what are you doing?"
"I paid you not to be served. Since you can't even wash the dishes, I don't think it's necessary for you to stay here." Kenneth said
The servants were terrified.
"Mr. Hussain, we'll wash the dishes."
The salary given by the Hussain family was high.
They were reluctant to leave here.
Kenneth raised his eyes and said, "Natalie will be responsible for your salary in the future. Think about who you work for."
"Got it." The servants breathed a sigh of relief when they heard that they didn't have to leave.
Kenneth looked at Natalie sideways and declared, "In the future, you will be responsible for all expenses of the Hussain Mansion. When the bills are sent to you, approve it if you are happy, and refuse it if not."
Natalie didn't expect Kenneth to help her.
"Yes, I see." Natalie nodded.
Kenneth stood up and declared, "Millie's pocket money, two-thirds off."
After saying that, Kenneth went upstairs.
The dining room was surprisingly quiet.
Millie was anxious and asked Melina for help.
Melina didn't look good either.
Kenneth embarrassed Millie directly in front of Dalia and Elwood. This was not good to be known by outsiders.
And he did this for a little secretary.
This would make people misunderstand.
"Dalia, Kenneth is considerate. When you marry him, just serve him well, and let Natalie handle the trivial things at home." Melina smiled and concluded, "Remember, you are the hostess of this family."
"Hmm." Dalia blushed and nodded.
Although Kenneth didn't look good to her just now,
she knew Melina had taken a fancy to her.
"Millie, give them some fruit." Then Melina looked at Natalie coldly and ordered, "Natalie, help me back to my room."
"Yes." Natalie stood up and walked over to Melina.
She helped Melina upstairs.
Melina put her whole weight on Natalie. She was pampered and plump.
But Natalie was a ninety-pound girl.
She almost lost her footing.
Melina reprimanded, "Hold on. Didn't you eat?"
Natalie didn't say anything.
"Don't say that our Hussain family abuse you badly. You have had dinner. It is unreasonable to have no strength." Melina said sharply.
Natalie was wailing inside.
She shouldn't have come!
She would never come again even if Kenneth killed her!
She followed Melina to the room.
Melina sat down and said coldly, "You have no future with Kenneth. I have some money here. Take it and leave him. Just leave this city."
She took out a bank card as she said.
Oh!
Natalie didn't expect the plot she often saw in novels to finally happen to her.
If it had been two days earlier, she might have agreed.
"Sorry, I can't accept it." Natalie said with embarrassment, "You don't know. I’ve signed a contract with Mr. Hussain. I have to work for five years before I can leave. Otherwise, he'll put me in jail. Why don't you persuade him to let me go ahead of time?"
Melina certainly didn't believe in the so-called contract mentioned by Natalie.
This was just an excuse.
"Natalie, don't blame me for not reminding you, you can't marry into the Hussain family as long as I'm alive." Melina was furious.
Natalie replied calmly, "I can wait until you die."
"What are you talking about?!" Melina gnashed her teeth, "You bitch! How dare you think about marrying into the Hussain family? You don't have self-knowledge at all. Do you really think I can't do anything to you?"
Natalie paused.
Melina stood up. Suddenly, she threw away her crutch and slumped to the floor, crying, "Ouch! Ouch! Someone! Help!"
Before she finished her words,
Millie rushed in at once. "What's wrong with you? Somebody! Natalie pushed Mrs. Melina Hussain down!"
In less than a minute.
Everyone came to the door of Melina's room.
So did Kenneth.
Melina grabbed him by the collar and said, "She pushed me."
After saying that, she fainted.
Kenneth looked up at Natalie with sharp eyes.
That look hurt Natalie.
He didn't believe her?
