Chapter 16 Is That Man Your Roommate?
Natalie looked sad.
Then she was hit hard from behind.
It turned out to be Kenneth's half-brother, Charlie.
Natalie's knee suddenly hit the low cabinet next to her, and she gasped in pain.
"Grandma!" Charlie rushed over. He tried to pick Melina up, but failed.
Actually, it was not because Melina was fat, but because Charlie was too weak.
He wanted to show it, but found that he couldn't make it.
"Get out of my way." Kenneth scolded, picked Melina up and walked outside.
Millie pointed at Natalie's nose and scolded, "Bitch, you can do anything in order to marry into the Hussain family. I'll definitely teach you a lesson!"
Natalie was speechless.
If she wanted to marry into the Hussain family, shouldn't she try her best to please Melina?
What brain circuits did they have?
"Miss Lama, let's go." Elwood said.
Natalie was surprised. Was Elwood helping her?
Elwood squinted and said, "Nobody in this family likes you."
He was telling the truth.
The Hussain family was not something she could covet.
Of course, she wouldn't stay here.
But her knee hurt as long as she moved.
Yet she just frowned a little and left.
With a unknown meaning in his eyes, Elwood also left.
Kenneth had taken Melina to the hospital.
With one hand in his trouser pocket, Elwood offered, "I'll drive you home."
Natalie shook her head. "No, I'll take a cab."
If he sent her home, wouldn't it reveal that she lived with Kenneth?
"It's not easy to take a taxi here. This half mountain is the private territory of the Hussain family, and taxis can't get in." Elwood said with a smile.
"Thanks a lot, then." Natalie got in the car.
Elwood drove her away.
Half an hour later.
Elwood sent Natalie downstairs to the house she used to rent.
"Do you live here?" Elwood was surprised.
She was Kenneth's private secretary. Elwood couldn't believe she lived in such an ordinary community.
"Yes, it's close to the company and the rent is low." Natalie thanked, "Mr. Bentley, thank you for taking me home. Drive carefully on the way. Goodbye."
She pushed the door opened, got out of the car and walked into the building door.
Staring at Natalie's slender back, Elwood was lost in thought.
They were so alike.
He wondered if they had any relationship.
"Natalie?" Isaac thought he was wrong.
He had thought Natalie would never come back.
"I came back to get my things." Natalie replied.
Isaac held his fingers and asked nervously, "Is that man just now your roommate?"
This "roommate" should be quoted.
He asked this question in a strange way.
Natalie asked in reply, "Isaac, we are just strangers. Do I have to tell you so much?"
Isaac said meaningfully, "He seems to be rich. He should have a high status, right? Give me some time, and I can do it too."
Natalie had a headache. She was tired tonight and didn't want to explain.
Sometimes, adults really didn't want to explain too much.
And it was a waste of time to explain to the wrong person.
She turned around and went upstairs.
When she came out of the elevator, she froze.
"Aunt Janiya, Lynda?" Natalie thought she was wrong.
Why did they arrive in advance and find this place?
"Nattie," Janiya was a little uneasy, "Sorry to bother you."
"You're welcome." Natalie looked at Lynda.
Lynda seemed to have lost her vitality and there was no light in her eyes.
"Natalie, long time no see. I didn't expect us to meet again." Lynda said with mixed feelings.
There were self-mockery and helplessness.
"Your eyes..." Natalie felt the same way. Lynda must be in a low mood because her health condition, right?
"I can still see some shadows." Lynda explained.
"Hmm." Natalie took out the key and opened the door.
Although it was out of expectation,
she couldn't drive them to a hotel now.
Because she couldn't bear to do so.
After entering, Natalie closed the door.
"Aunt Janiya, my home is relatively small. Please make do with it tonight, and I will think of a way tomorrow." Natalie said.
"This is good enough." Janiya smiled awkwardly, "Nattie, I hope you don't mind our sudden visit."
"It's all right." Natalie smiled. "I'm glad you came."
"Huh." Lynda gave a weird laughter.
Natalie didn't say anything.
Why was Lynda laughing?
Janiya just pretended not to hear.
Gurgling~
Their stomachs growled.
"Uncle Janiya, I'll get you something to eat." Natalie went into the kitchen.
Her kitchenette was open.
After all, her rental house was small, with one bedroom and one living room.
Suddenly squeezed in two people, it became a little crowded.
"I'll cook." Janiya put down her luggage and said, "Nattie, you've had a tired day, too. Don't be busy."
"Mom, you have been tired all day." Lynda then asked in a lukewarm voice, "Nattie, where do we sleep? I can't see and need my mother to take care of me."
Natalie thought for a moment and replied, "You sleep in the bedroom. I'll make do with it on the sofa in the living room. And why don't we order takeout? So that no one has to cook."
"Oh, don't order." Janiya thought it was a waste of money.
And the home-made food was healthier.
Actually, she was tired.
"Mom, don't keep up appearance to cover up your predicament." Lynda was getting upset.
She didn't want to be embarrassed in front of Natalie.
But her heart was full of envy and jealousy for Natalie's present life.
"Stop it!" Janiya was a little ashamed.
Janiya was strong all her life. Unfortunately, she was not smart enough and couldn't make any breakthrough in her studies, so she could only earn hard money by selling her physical strength.
When Janiya grew up and fell in love, she met a bad man. When she was young, she was also very good-looking. There were many men who pursued her, but she had a bad eye. She met a love rat, had child before marriage, and was abandoned.
Janiya gave birth to her child by herself. As her daughter grow up, their life seemed to get better.
However, she was worried and heartbroken again for her daughter.
She advised Lynda several times to learn well and stop fooling around with those bad friends.
But Lynda refused to listen to her.
Then, one day, Lynda couldn't see.
Janiya felt that her world was going to collapse.
"Janiya, take her to the room to rest first, and I will wait for takeaway." Natalie didn't argue with Lynda.
"Nattie, don't take it to heart. She has a strange temper." Janiya was embarrassed.
Natalie didn't want to hurt Janiya.
She also grew up in a single-parent family, and she had no idea if she had other relatives.
She only knew that it was not easy for Gabriella to raise her. Over the years, it was full of tears and helplessness.
What could be wrong with a mother who tried her best to make her daughter live a good life?
It was Lynda's own problem.
Suddenly,
there was a knock on the door outside.
Natalie was surprised. She hadn't ordered takeout yet.
"I'll have a look." Natalie went to the door and opened it.
It was Kenneth, who stared at her seriously.
Natalie's blood froze. Why wasn't he at the hospital with Melina? What was he doing here?
Shit!
How should she explain it?
"Nattie, who is it?" Janiya asked.
"It's someone downstairs." Natalie went out and closed the door.
Kenneth looked at her and asked coldly, "Isn't that landlord's house downstairs? What's wrong? Would you rather let your friends know about him than me?"
