Now that Edward and Melanie were married, their fortunes were intertwined. His success was tied to hers. He wanted the people around them to drop any biases they might have against her. While at the Grayson residence, Melanie had deliberately made the food less appealing to avoid having to cook. But things were different at Anna's place. Since she only came by occasionally, there was no harm in putting on a good show. Putting everything else aside, Melanie found that Anna was actually quite to her liking.
