Chapter 3
As Dorothy tidied her hair in the elevator, a wave of unease washed over her, memories of the wild night before flooding her mind and causing her cheeks to heat up.
What in the world was going on?
Didn't they mention that he would be the one to go into that private room? Why did they change the person after she had already fallen asleep?
In a terrible mood, Dorothy went to a nearby convenience store, swallowed a pill, and then took a taxi directly to the Arnold Mansion.
When she rang the doorbell, it was Olivia who opened the door.
"Lady Arnold, you're finally back? Young Master is waiting for you in the living room, remember to say something nice."
Dorothy was shocked and thanked her with a smile that was even worse than crying.
As soon as she stooped her waist and stepped into the entrance, an ashtray came smashing toward her face.
Dorothy quickly dodged by tilting her head, her heart pounding.
"You dare to dodge?"
If she didn't dodge, wouldn't she be hit? Why can't she dodge?
Swallowing hard, Dorothy put on an excessively obsequious smile.
"Michael, my dear brother, look at me..."
"Get over here!"
Dorothy choked briefly, and then slowly walked over.
"Where were you last night?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a hand gripped Dorothy's neck, making her complexion turn red.
"What are you doing, Michael? Dorothy wasn't doing it on purpose, she told me when she left last night."
A gentle-looking woman hurriedly ran down from upstairs, looking anxious, but the words she said were clearly revealing Dorothy's secrets.
As expected, upon hearing this, Michael's five fingers gradually closed, Dorothy felt somewhat oxygen-deprived, almost fainting.
Just at this critical moment, Michael suddenly let go of his hand. Dorothy stepped back two steps, reaching up to cover her neck, gulping in fresh air harshly.
"Have you tasted the feeling of being on the edge of death? Dorothy, if you want to kill yourself next time, just tell me and I will finish you off myself."
After saying that, Michael turned around and left.
"What right do you have to control me!"
Dorothy screamed with red eyes, she had been suppressing it for a long time.
But this rage wasn't hers, but the original owner's. Unfortunately, the original owner was already dead, and she was unable to speak these heartfelt words.
But it doesn't matter, she was reborn in this body, she will help her handle everything.
What belongs to Dorothy, she will personally take it back for her.
Dorothy, you can leave in peace...
Her body didn't feel as heavy as at the beginning, Dorothy breathed a sigh of relief.
The original body has at last resolved to leave. She had spent the previous days attempting to assimilate with the original body, but her efforts were in vain.
Now that the original body has actively detached, she felt greatly relieved.
Michael suddenly halted his steps, giving Dorothy the chance to hurriedly rush in front of him.
"Have you ever taken care of me since mom died? Isn’t it painful for me when mom died? You, on the other hand, silently went abroad for further studies, leaving me alone at home. Do you know the hardships I've encountered? When I was bullied, you didn't come to my aid, when I was framed, you didn't fight for justice for me, are you worthy of being a brother?
You've ignored me for so many years, but now that you're back, you're trying to kill me? Michael, am I really your sister? Or did mom adopt me?"
A hint of softness finally appeared on Michael's rigid face.
Dorothy seized the opportunity.
"Brother, can we stop confronting each other? Let’s reconcile, okay?"
Dorothy walked over and tightly hugged Michael's waist.
The status of Michael in this family was untouchable. As long as his father wasn't home, Michael was the leader.
Both his stepmother, Grace David, and his stepsister, Mia David, had immense respect for Michael.
The original body had no parental guidance, and her only brother wasn't home. She was educated by her stepmother and stepsister to be not only savage and spoiled but also not knowing the rules. She was unpopular in school and notorious in the business circle.
"Dorothy, you go apologize to dad later, okay? You just left the hospital, and went to see him again. If anything happened to you, both dad and brother would be heartbroken."
Michael looked up and glanced at his adorable stepsister. A chill flashed in his eyes.
