The holographic message from the Keeper hung in the air, heavy with unspoken implications. A sacrifice. Friesland, ever the leader, scanned his companions, his face etched with worry. Elizabeth, normally composed, stood staring at the pulsating Nexus, her eyes filled with a storm of emotions. The Scholar, his frail form weakened further, leaned heavily against the archway, a flicker of fear battling with resolve in his eyes.
