CHAPTER 34 THANKSGIVING TURMOIL

The weeks after Halloween passed in the whirl of papers, projects, and colder days. To Jenna’s surprise, Thanksgiving break was around the corner, that means home food and time with family. While laying the necessary outfits for the trip home, she felt both joy and a bit of nervousness in her tummy. This year’s Thanksgiving was to be everything other from what had ever been experienced before. This was the first time that Ryan as well as his family would be eating the holiday meal with the Carters. Jenna was very happy to have Ryan around for the long weekend as her company, however, there was always a minor concern about how his family and her family would get along. The drive home was with so much tension. Jenna thought about all the possible outcomes, the best and the worst ones she could imagine. What if Ryan’s dad and her dad never saw eye to eye? What if their moms had no common friendships, no common likes or dislikes or even experiences? What if the whole thing was just one
