CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE - The Diary's Tale

Rebecca's breath caught in her throat. The words could have been plucked from her own thoughts. She flipped through the pages, skimming entries that spoke of strange noises in the night, unexplained cold spots, and a growing sense of dread. As she read on, the entries became more frantic, the handwriting more erratic: "June 3, 1897, I can no longer deny the truth—this house is haunted. Not by mere ghosts, but by something far more sinister. I have discovered a hidden room within the forbidden wing, a place of great sorrow and unspeakable tragedy. I dare not write more, for fear that THEY might discover my knowledge. But I must find a way to escape before it's too late..." The final entry sent a chill down Rebecca's spine: "June 10, 1897, They know. God help me, they know what I've learned. I can hear them coming for me now. If anyone finds this diary, heed my warning: The truth lies hidden in the room of sorrows. But beware, for some secrets are better left buried..." The entry
