CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIX - Footsteps in the Dark

The diary's author had mentioned a "room of sorrows" hidden within the forbidden wing. Somehow, she had to find a way to access that wing and locate the hidden room. As she drifted off to sleep that night, lulled by the sleeping pill Luca had given her, Rebecca's mind churned with half-formed plans. She knew she was taking a risk, knew that she might be crossing a line from which there was no return. But the need to understand, to unravel the mansion's dark secrets, had become an obsession she could no longer ignore. In her dreams, she wandered the mansion's shadowy corridors, following the sound of distant weeping. She came to a door she had never seen before, ornately carved with scenes of sorrow and loss. As she reached for the handle, she heard a voice whisper urgently in her ear: "Beware, for some secrets are better left buried..." Rebecca woke with a start, her heart pounding. The room was dark, the mansion eerily quiet. Beside her, Luca slept peacefully, unaware of the turmo
