Chapter 3
Wendy felt shocked. She looked into his eyes and she couldn't help but ask, "Then why? Why did you ask me to marry you? You promised you would make me happy."
"If I didn't say that then, would you still marry me?" Brian sneered, he didn't want to look at her any more. He straightened up and left the bedroom without looking back.
She heard him making a phone call in the hallway. His voice was gentle and charming, it was like he was a different man, "Darling, It's time."
Wendy gradually slid off the sofa and onto the ground. She stayed up all night and she kept her eyes open until dawn.
"Ms. Su, go get a divorce!"
In a coffee shop, Kirsten looked at the woman sitting in front of her, her eyes, which were laced with big black eyeliner, were full of pride. "You know Brian loves me more than you. He was never happy with you, so just go get a divorce with him."
Wendy received a call from Kirsten today. She didn't know how she got her contact information. When she heard what she said, her face changed and she didn't speak.
"I know he never laid a finger on you. Even if his mother likes you, you still don't have a chance."
Kirsten acted like she was already married to him. Her voice was so loud everyone in the coffee shop could hear her.
Wendy stood up suddenly. She started chugging the cup of coffee she had ordered.
"What are you doing?"
Kirsten's sharp voice was loud enough to bust an eardrum. The next moment, Wendy put the cup in her hand on the table and walked outside without even looking back at her.
"Brian should be here with you if he wanted to get a divorce. Since he's not here, it's obvious you're not good enough for him."
Kirsten's vulgar curses came from behind, but Wendy felt nothing.
This wasn't the first time Brian's mistresses have approached her, and she felt that this wasn't going to be the last either. She had listened to the same old song over and over again and she had already gotten sick of it.
She was only twenty-three years old, but her mood was like a thirty-two-year-old woman.
As she remembered Brian's words last night, her heart felt like it was getting stabbed.
She focused too much energy on ignoring Kirsten. She ended up bumping into someone on the way out.
A waiter pulled her aside, and she kept apologizing to the man in front of her, "Ah, I'm sorry! Please excuse her!"
Wendy raised her head in a daze, and she suddenly met his cool and clear gaze.
In front of her stood a mature and indifferent man. His suit was handmade in Italy, it perfectly outlined his tall and straight figure. His dull eyes were slightly squinted at the moment. He simply stood there quietly, but he still had an atmosphere of elegance and nobility, which made people feel insignificant.
Wendy was stunned for a moment. This man looked familiar, but he had nothing to do with her.
"Excuse me," as soon as she said those two words, her phone suddenly rang. She saw that it was Ruby calling and she immediately answered it.
"Hey, Ruby, what's up?"
Kirsten was still cursing at her, so she hurriedly left the coffee shop to talk in private.
"Tsk, poor girl," the waiter whispered on the side.
"What happened?" The noble man suddenly asked.
The waiter saw him looking straight at her with his dark eyes, her eyes widened and she pointed at Kirsten who was still cursing, and she whispered, "You see that woman? She called her over to make her get a divorce with her husband, so they can be together. It sounded like he was having an affair with her. Honestly, men are scum these days."
She looked back at the man beside her and he looked like he was worth a lot of money. The waiter's face went even redder, and she added in a low voice, "Of course, sir, I only meant her husband, not you."
The man didn't notice the second half of her sentence. His gaze followed Wendy, who was in the street walking away.
At the Crimson Club, in the most luxurious VIP room, a love song was being sung by two men. The two of them were horrible.
There were still a few men sitting on the sofa, smoking, drinking, and gambling.
"Stop singing! I can't focus on the game!"
The man who was still holding the microphone suddenly threw the microphone and jumped to the corner of the sofa hidden in the darkness.
"Brother, you still have your old charms. I heard that as soon as you came back, half of the female idols from Johnny's entertainment company began to loiter in front of the Lu building every day trying to get a glimpse of you."
Harry Shen wore his usual flower tie and yellow pants. His tone made everyone in the private room burst into laughter.
"Hey, Harry, you still remember the college party? You said you were going to get more girls than our brother and you immediately got a drink splashed on your face! Our brother is purer and cleaner than you, what woman doesn't want to marry him?"
"Hey, hey, cut me some slack!" Harry yelled.
He then looked at the man who was sitting on the sofa with a faint expression, and he asked, "By the way, brother, have you met anyone while you were gone?"
Everyone quickly looked over to him curiously. They could vaguely see him smiling as his face was hidden in the darkness.
He began to lean forward, his white but slightly angular chin was exposed first, followed by his lips, his well-sculpted nose, and finally his clear eyes. The answer became obvious as they looked into his eyes.
