Chapter 2
"I only talk to my secretary to report to Wendy about—"
Irma's expression changed and she interrupted him with gritted teeth, "The secretary? Again? Brian, that's the last thing you want to do. If you don't want Mr. Su to grab you by the neck, I suggest you break it off with her and—"
"Fine! I get it!" Brian interrupted Irma with an angry expression. He turned around and walked upstairs.
Irma sighed behind him. "Brian, I know what you have done for our family, but don't make this mistake."
It was summer back in July, but the water was still cold enough to make people shiver. Wendy was taking a shower in the bathroom, but she didn't feel anything.
After taking a shower and coming out to the bedroom, she saw Brian sitting on the edge of the bed. He was holding a resume that she had printed that day.
He was wearing the clothes that she had bought for him a long time ago. The white cotton cloth made him look gentle, but that was the only thing it did for him.
When Wendy walked over, she saw that the contents of her bag scattered around everywhere. She quickly picked her things up, she looked at the man on the bed and she said, "I'm going to sleep, you can go now."
But Brian didn't get up, he crossed his legs and glanced at her lightly. He said, "I'm going to sleep here tonight."
Wendy frowned, and soon understood the reason why he was acting like this.
Irma was still at home, and she didn't want to see them separated.
Wendy walked over to the closet, she took a blanket and a few pillows and she put them on the sofa. The sofa doubled as a bed when it was laid out and she decided to sleep there for the night.
During the entire process, she didn't look at him for a second, causing his brows to furrow slightly.
She had just taken a shower, her face still had a few droplets of water, and the dim orange light of the bedside lamp gave her a relaxed, picturesque look. Her skin looked tender and it was as very refreshing to look at.
Brian watched her as she laid down. He had a small but noticeable smile on his lips.
When Wendy laid down, she thought of what Irma said to her last night.
"A woman's youth will fade away sooner or later. You two should have children as soon as possible, it's how you make a man stay loyal."
Wendy's ears were a little hot from embarrassment. She immediately fell asleep from exhaustion.
She and Brian have never even slept on the same bed, how could they have children?
But then she could feel the bed sink behind her, and in the next second, a warm breath caressed her neck. Wendy unconsciously turned around before he could bite her ear.
Brian felt a little disappointed with her sudden movement, but he kissed her on the cheek with a smile on his face.
Her face had an innocent, bewitching charm as she slept in the quiet of the night.
Wendy's eyes stiffened up, but before she could wake up, her lips were caught by the man's thin lips.
At first, Brian's movements were very gentle, he kissed her as if she was very fragile. His tongue and lips delicately caressed hers.
Her scent was better than he had imagined, but the taste of her lips made him impatient.
His light kiss became passionate and brash. She felt a hand going up her legs, and she caught the scent of another woman's lipstick.
Wendy woke up suddenly. She felt his tongue in her mouth and she felt mortified.
A muffled scream sounded from her lips, and in the next moment she pushed him away and she said in an angry tone, "Don't kiss me with those used lips!"
Wendy gritted her teeth as she remembered the woman Brian was with, she couldn't bear to have him hold her. She was about to sit up to get away from him, but he pushed her down with one hand.
A trace of anger flashed across Brian's face. He pursed his lips and looked at the woman in front of him. "Wendy, don't forget, I'm still your husband!"
Wendy wanted to cry, but she laughed inexplicably instead. "It's funny you can still say that to me."
"Really, funny is it? Then what does this résumé mean?" A piece of A4 paper was thrown on Wendy's face. The corners scratched her face lightly. "You went to Gu's for an interview today, didn't you? Be honest with me, how desperate are you?"
Wendy took the resume in his hand, she knew that Brian didn't read it seriously. Obviously he misunderstood, but he still got something right.
She was desperate back then, when she first started at the Gu Group. A whole year had passed and she realized it was nothing but a lost cause.
Her face was as pale as the paper, but she didn't say a word. The next moment, her body was suddenly pushed back on the sofa by the man, her hair was messy and it was scattered on her face. She felt dizzy and she could only vaguely see his emotionless eyes.
"I know you love me, I know you waited for me at home every night, I know you wore lingerie and perfume you know I like. Do you know why I still haven't touched you?"
Brian smiled cruelly as he looked at her pained expression. "It's because you're not good enough. Don't think you're so noble and pure, you're not even as good as a whore in a bar. I would never touch you."
