Dean Bryman hadn’t been lying when she said the missing students had spoken to their parents. I found Lydia after breakfast and she called Chelsea’s parents who confirmed what the dean had said, and told us that Chelsea was currently at her cousin’s and she wouldn’t be back in Blackwood anytime soon because she was experiencing burnout. We’d called Chelsea next and her number didn’t go through, but we were no longer worried because her mom had sounded so happy over the phone, and her happiness was rather infectious.
