CHAPTER 97

“What's this about?” I muttered, staring at the creepy poem I just read. There had obviously been more, but it was on the part that had been ripped off by whoever left the book in that hidden compartment – I could see the upper half of the words on the next line. Also, the book looked like it had been in the compartment for years. It was coated in a thick layer of dust, some of which was now on my hands, and the pages were old.
I flipped through the first couple of pages without really focusing on them, and I noticed that the pages were written in another language – Latin, perhaps – before deciding to turn it into the library. The librarian loved books like this. I kept the book in my fanny pack and dusted my hands as best as I could before heading back to the foyer just as my friends came down the stairs along with three students I didn’t recognize. Those three looked shaken up and after we all walked out of the building, they took one UTV with Keith while the rest of us
