Chapter 18
Summer’s fair face was horribly swollen, and she was so frightened that she kept inching backward.
“Stop embarrassing yourself here and get your a*s home!” Jasper clenched his fists, and his words were laced with threats.
Summer lowered her gaze to look at her feet and bit her lower lip. “Sorry, I’ll immediately…”
If she knew that Jasper and Victoria would be here, she definitely would not have come.
Jasper intended to send Summer home without even thinking twice of it, but Victoria quickly walked over to Jasper and grabbed his arm. “Jasper, a lot of people are watching. It would be bad for you if others were to find out that you’re related to a waitress…”
Jasper glanced at Victoria and ignored Summer from then on.
“Jasper, why don’t you talk to Mr. Ardly for a moment? I need to head to the washroom.” Victoria’s gaze darkened as she stared after Summer.
At the garden of the hotel.
Summer stumbled out of the banquet hall and was trembling as she sat on a bench.
She was not stupid.
You could tell who a person loved just by looking at their eyes.
Jasper did not love her.
She sat there feeling numb for a long time and raised her head to look at the sky.
It was snowing again.
“Summer Plath?”
A snowflake drifted into Summer’s eye, and she abruptly regained her senses. She rose anxiously. “Miss… Miss Dawn…”
Victoria scrutinized Summer carefully and asked without thinking about it. “Have you really forgotten your past?”
Summer carefully clutched her hands together and shook her head slowly. “N-No, I don’t…”
“Hah. Then, what’s your relationship with Jasper?”
“N-No, there’s no relationship between us…” Summer was so frightened that she kept shaking her head non-stop.
Jasper would definitely not let her off the hook if she were to make Victoria angry.
Victoria sneered and slowly walked over to Summer.
Summer inched backward in fear, getting closer and closer to the pond.
“Are you afraid of me?” The almighty and arrogant daughter of the Plath family who had always looked down on her was actually afraid of her now!
“I’m not…” Summer shook her head.
“Summer, do you know why Jasper allows you to keep the baby in your womb?” Victoria asked in a low voice and goaded Summer with a smile on her face.
Summer straightened up and held her stomach without being aware of it.
“Because of you, I got into an accident in Country M and am no longer able to conceive. Jasper is thinking about letting you give birth to the baby so that he can give the baby to me!”
Summer was shocked as she gazed into Victoria’s eyes, and there was a chill running down her spine.
......
He was going to give her baby to Victoria!?
Then what about her?
Was she merely a tool that fulfilled his s*xual desires and gave birth to a child for him?
......
Summer started to feel a little dizzy, and she almost lost her balance.
…..
“Summer!”
Jasper walked out of the banquet hall.
Victoria froze for a moment. She did not expect Jasper to appear. Was he worried about this woman?
“Ah!” Victoria glanced at the pool and subconsciously grabbed Summer’s wrist. Both of them plunged into the ice-cold pond.
Summer lost her balance, and she did not even realize what was happening when she was pulled into the icy waters.
“Vic!” Jasper sucked in a sharp breath and jumped into the pond without hesitation.
He swam past Summer and pulled Victoria into his embrace.
“Where’s everyone! Call an ambulance!”
“Summer, I only asked you to leave Jasper. Why did you push me into the pond?” Victoria was crying as she hugged Jasper tight. She was trembling, cutting a pitiful sight.
Summer’s entire body was drenched, and the cold as well as the pain in her stomach was almost making her lose her mind. “It wasn’t me... it wasn’t me…”
Jasper’s gaze was murderous, and he looked like he wanted to skin Summer alive.
Summer’s heart felt colder than the water in the pond.
Jasper did not believe her.
And he had never cared about whether she was dead or alive.
He found it embarrassing for her to be working, but he never even remembered the fact that he had not given her a single cent to survive.
He had spent millions to propose to Victoria, but he forgot that Summer was pregnant. All she needed was a few eggs to fill her stomach...
“Jaz… it wasn’t me. I didn’t…”
Victoria leaned against Jasper’s chest and looked provocatively at Summer.
Summer bit her lower lip. ‘It must feel very warm to be in his embrace.’
After her accident last year, Jasper held her in his embrace, rescued her and brought her home.
The staff members of the hotel brought some towels over and nervously wrapped Jasper and Victoria with them.
Jasper though, stripped the towel off himself and wrapped it around Victoria instead.
Summer slowly crawled out of the pond, feeling very dizzy as she curled up on the floor.
No one cared about whether she was dead or alive. Jasper would never care about whether she was dead or alive.
“It’s so cold…”
She did not want to love Jasper anymore.
“Summer!” Adrian ran out of the banquet hall when he heard the commotion. He anxiously snatched a dry towel from one of the staff members and wrapped it around Summer. “Are you guys f*cking blind? Didn’t you see that she had fallen into the pond as well?”
She was pregnant!
And the baby in her womb was already in danger to begin with...
