Chapter 15 Sharon's Anger
Sharon was taken aback by Clara's icy gaze, and the words she wanted to say got stuck in her throat.
Seeing her compliance, Matthew finally released his grip.
Lillian, seizing the opportunity to mediate, stepped forward as the peacekeeper. "Mrs. Sharon, Matthew is worried about Mr. Andrew. Since Ms. Edwards is Sovereign, she surely can treat Mr. Andrew well. Let's not dwell on past matters until Mr. Andrew is treated, okay?"
Seeing someone offering an olive branch, Sharon reluctantly nodded, then turned her gaze toward Clara. "We won't give you any money. After all, you've spent a lot of the Garcia family's money over the past three years. Consider this as compensation!"
Clara smirked and lazily nodded in agreement.
She didn't care about the Garcia family's money.
But...
Clara thought of something and, meeting Matthew's inquisitive gaze, spoke nonchalantly. "Mrs. Sharon is right. After this surgery, I'll have no ties with the Garcia family, and I hope you won't continue to bother me, Matthew."
Bothering?
Matthew's eyes flashed with severity. "Let's discuss this after the surgery is successfully completed!"
He still needed answers to his doubts!
And Matthew's mind filled with suspicion about the people surrounding her, intensifying the coldness emanating from him.
Upon hearing Matthew's words, Sharon frowned, intending to speak up. But seeing Matthew's gaze, she reluctantly sat back down without saying a word.
However, watching Clara administer the needle injections, Sharon sneered. "Someone finally reached a high position but was unable to hold onto it. Fortunately, the Garcia family has gotten rid of those with ill intentions. Even if one is famous, without a solid backing, that fame won't last long!"
Clara blocked out these words and carefully treated Andrew.
A breeze blew in through the window, lifting strands of her hair.
Paired with her serious and focused expression, Matthew couldn't bear to look away.
"Done."
Clara exhaled deeply, wiping the sweat from her forehead after putting away the medical equipment.
"Mr. Andrew will probably wake up in about three hours. It's best to keep the surroundings quiet."
It was obvious she was referring to the figures sitting nearby.
Seeing Sharon about to explode in anger again, Matthew intervened. "That's enough!"
His roar startled the two beside him into silence.
Clara then looked at William. "When Mr. Andrew wakes up, have someone conduct a check-up. Let me know when the surgery can be scheduled."
The preoperative preparation was draining, and Clara looked visibly tired.
She didn't want to continue bickering with them here, so she left after uttering those words.
Matthew was about to follow, but Sharon stopped him in his tracks!
"Your grandpa hasn't woken up yet. Where do you think you're going? Matthew, as your mother, I advise you to carefully examine your assets. Don't let scheming people transfer them away during these three years. Do you understand?"
Matthew had grown tired of hearing Sharon's words over the past three years.
"David, escort her back!" he ordered.
It immediately prompted David to step forward and intercept Sharon, who was about to stop Matthew again. "Mrs. Sharon, allow me to take you home."
Sharon watched Matthew leave, her chest heaving with anger, but she dared not stay and further provoke him.
She reluctantly left with her bag.
Seeing Sharon leave, Lillian hurriedly caught up to her. "Mrs. Sharon, now that Matthew has finally divorced Clara, he won't easily remarry. But I'm worried that Clara will persistently pursue him..."
Upon hearing this, Sharon's eyes flashed with hostility. "That little slut isn't even worthy of serving me as a maid!"
"Don't worry, Lillian. You're the most satisfactory daughter-in-law in my heart. There's a business reception in a few days, and some people from Kivergoe will be attending. I'll arrange for you and Matthew to go together. Let that little slut regret it!" Sharon continued, her voice filled with malice.
People from Kivergoe would be coming!
Lillian's eyes lit up with joy. Those who attended the same business receptions were usually affluent and influential!
When the time came, even if Matthew's attention wasn't on her, she could still use this opportunity to network with others!
"Mrs. Sharon, rest assured. I will definitely not be like some people who don't know what's good for them. Matthew is the only one in my heart, and I'm willing to do anything for his sake." Lillian assured Sharon, her words filled with obedience.
Sharon felt somewhat relieved hearing the submissive words from Lillian.
However, as Clara's face flashed through her mind, Sharon's heart hardened.
It seemed she needed to find a way to make Clara disappear from Matthew's life once and for all!
