Chapter 812
As the elevator doors closed, everyone inside gave Bethany odd looks.
Bethany lowered her head, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. As soon as the elevator arrived at her floor, she hurried out.
She didn't head straight to Asher's ward. Instead, she stopped in the hallway, taking a moment to steady herself.
"Beth?" Trystan stepped out, on his way to handle the discharge paperwork, and found her standing there. "Why aren't you going in?"
Bethany turned to him. She only had a few days' worth of memories of Trystan, and even then, she hardly knew him. But one thing she was sure of—they were divorced. That was enough to tell her they must not have seen eye to eye on anything.
Her expression was unreadable as she walked up to him. In a serious tone, she said, "Mr. Lawson, I'm truly sorry about what happened with Ash."
"Beth, why are you bringing this up all of a sudden?" he asked, a bit surprised. "No one blames you. It was an accident, and it wasn't your fault."
Bethany frowned.
