"Forget it. It's fine," Emma said quickly. "That's just how kids are—moody and unpredictable. If they're throwing a tantrum, it usually means they're fine."
She turned to Trystan and smiled faintly. "Well, since Ash is fine, I'll head out now. Mrs. Lawson, Mr. Lawson, goodbye!"
"Trys!" Bianca nudged him. "Go see her off. Kids don't know any better, but shouldn't you, as an adult, know better?"
Trystan had no choice but to see Emma off.
The walk to the elevator was silent, his face unreadable and his lips drawn tight as if he had no intention of saying a word.
Emma couldn't shake her discomfort, but she knew better than to push things.
When they arrived at the elevator, she spoke up first. "Mr. Lawson, you don't have to walk me all the way. I know you don't think much of what I did before, but I don't regret it. I was just being honest about how I feel. Whether you accept it or not, I stand by it."
