The games had started nicely with a few pairings, a few more trios, but a lot more groups of four, unlike the rest. We had also finalized the arrangements for the games, outlining their sequential order. First was a nice little tug-of-war game, but as expected, it came with a catch: each team would pick one person to compete, and the losers at the end of it would have to spend their lunch breaks with the winning department. It wasn't just an individual thing; it involved everyone in a department, including those that despised the other ones for no reason and those that weren't interested in going to another floor just to have lunch because it was awkward.
No one wanted to lose, which was understandable, but someone would have to, which was the reality.
