JADE’S POV
I couldn't believe it, well, I could since it had happened, but I still couldn't wrap my head around it for obvious reasons. These girls had been talking about this guy for some time, and other girls at the company saw him as one of the coolest coworkers. He was basically a hotshot, so I couldn't believe who was standing in front of me an hour ago. It was Mark, yes, my friend in accounting, Mark, the shy guy with the broken glasses, the one I had been having lunch with almost every day, the one I had been helping to arrange files, the one who sent me good-night messages without fail and asked if my day was going well—that was the one they were talking about.
Saying I was traumatized by this would sound too extreme, so I'll just stick to the fact that I'm still extremely flabbergasted by it all.
