Chapter 4 Lustful Wretch

Seeing that Heatonmon was courteous and seemed like a reputable person, MacIntyre merely glared at Tia before saying nothing more. He had come to visit his father and didn't want an outsider affecting his mood. Heatonmon quickly pulled Tia aside. The butler behind them was constantly on alert, one hand poised at his chest as if ready to draw a gun at any moment, indicating the unusual status of this father-daughter duo. “Why are you being polite to him? He’s just a lustful wretch who’s ruined countless girls.” “He might look decent, but he’s filthy inside. He can’t walk past a pretty woman without stopping. If he hadn’t been caught in a brothel, Rebecca wouldn’t even know about it. It’s no wonder his family’s estate fell overnight.” “Actually, this wretch should be grateful to Marissa. Without her support, he would have starved to death long ago.” Heatonmon was taken aback and quickly stopped her. “You shouldn’t say things like that.” “I’m not lying. I’ve met Marissa. She’s beautiful, capable, and very dedicated to the Gomez Estate. I wouldn’t have investigated these things if I didn’t admire her.” Heatonmon nodded thoughtfully, looking at MacIntyre’s back. “Now that you mention it, Marissa has been quite active this year. Even many of the old members of the Chamber of Commerce praise her. But that’s their business. Don’t create trouble for yourself.” MacIntyre, mourning his father, had reached a heightened state where he could see and hear everything around him clearly. He overheard the conversation between the father and daughter word for word. “This woman is so insidious. She made up such a story while I was locked away, trying to ruin me completely. I’ll have to be more careful with her in the future.” MacIntyre frowned, his teeth grinding with rage, wanting to go back and teach her another lesson. Though he had been reborn, he had no place to stay. Who knew when Marissa might issue a wanted order, and he’d be dead in no time. “Hmph, I have all the time in the world. We’ll see.” Just as MacIntyre was about to wander elsewhere in the estate, he suddenly heard heavy breathing. “James, quickly bring my father’s medicine!” Tia urgently called to the butler beside her, but Heatonmon was already on one knee, hands clutching his throat, his face turning red. MacIntyre, with his Zeus Eyes, quickly determined that the old man had something lodged in his throat and would suffocate if it wasn’t removed quickly. James brought the medicine, but before he could open the bottle, Heatonmon collapsed, trembling, with his lips turning pale. Tia started crying in fear, while James remained calm, lifting Heatonmon. “Hold on, I’ll get you to the hospital.” “The faster you run, the deeper the obstruction will lodge. Do you have a grudge against this old man?” MacIntyre was suddenly beside James, but he didn’t intend to help. Instead, he mocked them from the side. “It’s all your fault, you wretch! Everyone around you is doomed!” Tia’s eyes reddened, and she wanted to strangle MacIntyre. “Hah, always blaming others. Fine, pretend I didn’t say anything. Just don’t let him die in my estate.” “You! Hmph, James, let’s go. Don’t waste time with this bastard.” “Kindness taken for donkey’s liver and lungs. He has two minutes left. Beg me, and maybe I’ll save him.” “Why should I trust you?” “Because this is my estate, because I’m in a good mood today, and because the old man shouldn’t die because of your stupidity!” Tia was momentarily speechless, but she still didn’t trust MacIntyre. “You have one and a half minutes left to make the right decision.” Before Tia could respond, James approached MacIntyre with Heatonmon. “Please, help us.” “James, are you crazy? Don’t trust him. He’ll kill my father!” James thought for a moment before placing Heatonmon in front of MacIntyre. “If he can’t save him, I’ll make him join Heatonmon in death!” MacIntyre smirked, knowing that despite James’s muscles and height, he was no match for him. “Step aside. Don’t block the way. You can watch to your heart’s content if he dies.” MacIntyre turned Heatonmon over, relaxed his limbs, and felt around the back of his head until he nodded in satisfaction. The Witch of the Holy Order had passed all her powers to MacIntyre, making this simple task easy. Still, he had never tried it before and was cautious. “Hurry up! What are you waiting for? Time’s almost up. Do you want to kill my father?” Tia urged him constantly. MacIntyre gave her a glare and conjured a transparent knife out of thin air, which terrified Tia. “What…what are you doing?” “Watch quietly. If you make another sound, I’ll kill him now!” The knife was actually the witch’s staff, capable of transforming into any object, though MacIntyre’s current abilities were limited. He couldn’t openly use magic in front of everyone, so the knife was just a cover. The witch’s powers included a healing ability that could cure any disease, regenerate organs, and even bring the dead back to life. MacIntyre used the knife to make a small cut at the back of Heatonmon’s head. Heatonmon immediately jerked and spat out several foreign objects. James frowned, recognizing it as the Holy Order’s Shadow Purification Technique, indicating MacIntyre’s high level of mastery. “No, it must be a mistake. He’s too young to have such power.” But Heatonmon was still bleeding heavily, scaring Tia. “James, kill him! He’s trying to murder my father!” “You’re really annoying. How can he recover without expelling the contaminated blood?” As the daughter of a wealthy family, Tia had never been spoken to like this, but she held her tongue this time. Finally, just as Tia was about to shout again, Heatonmon stirred. “Dad!!” Tia hurriedly supported her father. “What happened?” “Who knows? You tried one of my estate’s grapes and nearly choked to death.” Heatonmon looked embarrassed at MacIntyre’s words. “I came here hoping to collaborate with you. I couldn’t resist trying one. Thank you for saving me.” James, understanding MacIntyre’s unique identity, quickly informed Heatonmon of everything that had happened. Despite that, Tia remained ungrateful, accusing MacIntyre of trying to kill them. “You’re quite the ingrate. I should’ve let him die.” “Hmph, you poisoned the grapes!” MacIntyre rolled up his sleeves in anger. “Enough!” Suddenly, Heatonmon became serious and ordered Tia, “Where are your manners? He’s our benefactor. Stand down immediately!”
