Seth pulled June into his arms tenderly and said, "You silly goose, this is your baby. Are you sure you can bear to part with it?" June nestled against Seth's chest while smiling at him in understanding. "Although I can't be your wife in this lifetime, you still saved yourself for me. In the end, it was Emmy who got the short end of the stick. "With this baby, I also want Emmy to know that I have no intention of usurping her position as your wife. I just want to be with you." Despite saying that, she was looking at Emma with blatant provocation. Afterward, Seth leaned in close to Emma's ear and said coldly, "June is so sweet. If you want to thank her, you'd better fix your attitude. "I'll leave June's pregnancy to you. After the baby is born, I'll also leave the child's education to you. I know with the Burton family's capabilities, it won't be difficult to raise the child to become a great person." He didn't even ask Emma if she was willing to do it, like he thought that it was a given that she would just accept these terms. It was all because she used to love him, and her childhood dream was to marry him. Emma subconsciously caressed her lower belly. Even though there were tears in her eyes, there was also a coldness that she had never shown him before. "I reject your offer, Seth. Also, what makes you think that I should listen to you?" Seth stared down at Emma. Her strong but distant expression was reflected in his dark eyes. At that moment, he felt panicked for some reason. However, something else popped into his head, and he continued indifferently, "But you don't have a choice, Emma. "I will never divorce you, nor will I ever touch you. Your only chance of getting the inheritance is the baby in June's womb. "It seems like you won't even seize the final opportunity that I'm graciously extending to you. Fine. You'd better watch yourself." With that, he wrapped his arm around June's waist and left. Before walking away, June didn't forget to bump against Emma's shoulder. With a fake exclamation of surprise, she said unapologetically, "Oh dear. Sorry." Seth immediately put a protective arm around June. "Be careful," he said gently. As she listened to their footsteps fade away, Emma felt chills run down her spine. When she returned to her senses, she raised a hand to her face and realized it was wet with tears. The bond that they shared was from growing up together. They understood each other too well, even knowing the other's weaknesses. Seth knew that by doing this, he was stabbing her in the heart repeatedly. However, for the sake of his and June's child, he had still chosen to do this. He knew that she had no other choice. He was forcing her to choose this and to swallow this disgusting fact. Emma took a deep breath. She dug her nails so harshly into her palms that she drew blood. Only then was she able to regain her rational thinking. At that moment, her assistant, Delilah Summers, sent her a text. The signature on the divorce settlement agreement was valid. Emma was stunned for some time. Then, she typed out a reply. "Gather evidence of Seth's affair. I want my lawyer to see him in court." Delilah was quiet for a moment, but she couldn't help but say, "Ms. Burton, are you trying to burn bridges with him? Didn't you say that you wanted to end things amicably?" Emma scoffed quietly. "He doesn't deserve that."
