"They've all lost their minds. This is crazy! What's even going on right now?" someone said, struggling to believe what they were seeing. "Yeah, seriously, what just happened? If I hadn't been here the whole time, I'd swear I missed something big," another person chimed in, just as confused. "Are these rich people just playing games with us? Is this some kind of weird charity thing?" someone else wondered, trying to figure out why the bidding was getting so out of hand. The room was full of people whispering and trying to make sense of it all. Meanwhile, Megan and Jeanne were feeling pretty foolish. Not long ago, they were laughing at Nolan, thinking he was about to make a fool of himself. But now, it seemed like the joke was on them. "Jeanne, do you have any idea what's going on?
