Chapter 224 It Was Never Going to Be That Simple
Nova carefully rolled up Tristan's sleeve, trying to find the tiny puncture from the needle.
"Nova, it's too dark here. You're not going to see anything," Tristan muttered, pulling his arm back and pressing his fingers to the faint sting where the needle had pierced his skin.
"Wait, look at this." Nova pulled out a syringe she'd grabbed from the bridge earlier, the one filled with a strange red liquid.
It had to be the same drug Nathan had used on him.
"Keep that safe. We'll need Lionel to take a look at it when we get out of here."
They had been walking for what felt like hours, and the worry gnawed at Nova.
Tristan had collapsed earlier, and even though he seemed somewhat better now, she knew it wasn't that simple. Whatever Nathan had injected into him was still coursing through his veins.
