Chapter 22

As they stepped out of the courthouse, Lawrence's face lit up with excitement. "Zayne, Ms. Schubert, we won the case!" he exclaimed. "Let's go celebrate!" Enrica replied, "It's just a recess. We still don't know the final verdict." Lawrence chuckled confidently. "Don't worry, we've got this. If they don't drop the lawsuit and settle within a week, I'll take my Labrador's last name." Zayne said gravely, "Man, you're already shady enough. Change your name too and no one would want you as their lawyer." Lawrence let out a couple of dry chuckles. "Zayne, that was a really bad joke." Enrica laughed too. "If it really turns out as you say, I'll treat you to a nice meal." "Ms. Schubert, you'd better keep your word!" She suppressed a smile. "Yes, I will." "Alright then, I'd better get going to wrap things up. Ms. Schubert, see you later. Zayne, I'm off!" Lawrence waved and hurried to his old, white Jetta. Soon, he drove away with his rickety car making all sorts of clanking noises. E
