Chapter 25 Hospital Garden
Olivia's POV
I plucked another grape from the fruit basket, savoring the burst of sweetness as I bit into the juicy, soft flesh. The hospital room was quiet, a contrast to the chaotic rhythm of my usual life. It felt strange, liberating even, to be free from the clutches of stress, work, and especially Serena. Finally, it was just me.
Harper and a few colleagues had dropped by earlier, their presence a brief interruption to my solitude. I smiled at their concern, appreciating the effort, but now, as I reclined on the hospital bed, I relished the rare tranquility.
"You look better, Liv," Harper remarked, pulling up a chair beside me.
I chuckled, feeling the weight of exhaustion lift off my shoulders. "Well, Harper, turns out a break from chaos does wonders."
He grinned, but then his expression turned serious. "Damien's handling things well at the office."
I waved off the concern. "I don't are what he does with his company, all I want to do now is rest.”
