I stood in front of the alpha for the first time in my life. For the tenth time, he asked, “Are you sure it’s him?”
She stood beside me and nodded her head several times. “Yes, Father, I am sure it’s him. Very sure. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. All the symptoms—period—is it symptoms?” She asked, tapping her chin and looking up at the ceiling.
“Anyways, they were there: the quickening heartbeat, the tingles, the wolf telling me. Not to mention, he’s very lovely.” She looked at me and smiled.
“And you?” the alpha asked me.
“I’m not interested in this charade,” I said. “Absolutely not interested. I know exactly what I am, and I know exactly what’s going to happen after this meeting. You’re going to call me aside and tell me to forget about being with your daughter, and that’s fine. I am perfectly fine with it.” I breathed heavily after talking.
